Who will still defend Mike Zimmer, now?

Good question. Someone will bring up the Ellis thing I'm sure.

It's incredible how we seem to be the only team in football who can lose one significant player on defense all year, yet consistently use his loss as the reason they have collapsed.

Good coordinators figure out ways to adjust to injuries.

It's mind boggling. We've gone from a pretty good defense to damn near the worst in the league in a matter of weeks.

we are the worst

the 89 Cowboys played better defense than this, and we didnt have a shred of good talent on that defense

it shows you what a difference good schemes and coaching makes

How can you defend him? The Lions haven't scored this many points ALL YEAR LONG. Has Kitna thrown 4 TD passes in a game this year? I don't know, but I doubt it.

True although he did have close to 4000 yards before the game started.

Worst of all for me, they didn't anything to Furrey after he dissed the star.

Still there has to be a lot of blame on Romo, terrible INT, two fumbles, a lot of bad passes.

I will dedfend him.

He's been a consistently good DC.
As soon as Parcells mandates his vaunted 3-4, the defense goes into a tailspin this year. Zimmer and the rest of the defensive staff might be going through growing pains with a reactive defense.

He's had a tough second half of the season, yes. Everyone goes through those phases, even St. Parcells.

The anti-Zimmer emotions run high, but they should realize through their mood swings this season, that Zim is working with what he's got: underachieving players who seem confused by the system.

Good bless us everyone. On to the future.

Outside of the interception and the one behind Glenn in the endzone, where were the bad passes?

Quite possibly the most untrue post ever.

Yes the players are underachieving... THAT'S THE FREAKIN' POINT. PLAYERS ALWAYS UNDERACHIEVE UNDER ZIMMER. That goes all the way back to BEFORE BP got here.

That pass was tipped, actually.

Romo having to run around everytime he touches the ball just about plays a part in this. We have more guys blocking then they are sending and we STILL can't give him a pocket to throw from. Yes, those fumbles hurt, especially the one at the end.

There is definitely some blame on Romo, but everytime we got the lead I was thinking, "now we have momentum, the defense just needs to hold them". That never happened. The defense never stopped the 2-13 Lions.

he claims to be huge on special teams, coverage and the return game....yet he has consistently neglected to draft players from UT...one of the top schools for special teams in college....The Horns have blocked more kicks than any team since 2000. They have also returned several punts and kickoffs for touchdowns....

Yes I am a UT homer, but the fact remains that if Parcells was as big about Special Teams as he claims he would have drafted players from UT....and even VaTech, and NC State.....

Im sick of Parcells already....I am sick of Zimmer....I am sick of an offense with tons of playmakers, but never makes plays....get rid of the handcuffs...take chances...

I would like to see a defense that blitzes....a defense that attacks instead of reacts...I would like to see a defense that hits the QB on over half the pass plays....I want to see running backs hit in the backfield on a consistent basis....I want to see 3rd and long lead to punts instead of 1st downs....

Yeah, and the pass to Glenn in the endzone is a weak argument considering he was on the run and had a defender coming right at him and had to make a quick flip.

Even the first INT we got screwed as the receiver (I believe it was Witten) was illegally bumped. His impulse throws have to be curbed, but otherwise he's a good QB. If Jason Campbell had a game like that, they'd say he's the second coming and the Skins have much better pass protection and a running game than what Romo is getting.

We still scored 31 points in the game, but the lousy defense headed by a lousy D-Coordinator should take the responsibility for this loss.

The only good thing is that I *think* we can actually beat Seattle more than I think we can beat NYG or Philly, Romeo Crennel didn't help his chances in Cleveland today, and at least it's proven that the 4-3 isn't the answer either. Zimmer just sucks.
