I think it's fair to say that we have not been able to put up back to back winning seasons since Garrett took over. I don't see Garrett as the type to step up and say "it's on me", I don't see Jerry blaming Garrett. So, who will be the sacrificial lamb?? If this continues, will Garrett take the play calling duties from Linehan, will Rod be sent packing, or will Jerry ask Garrett to fly home with him after the next road loss? I don't see any of these happening, but if I had to put money on it, I would bet Rod is shown the door. At least, that's what I would do.
Being a coach for so long, I hate to see coaches fired, but something's gotta get there attention.

Thoughts?

I see Garrett as that man exactly. If your saying Garrett should voluntarily step down well that's a different discussion.
It means something that many in the business of writing about the great game voted him the COTY.

If your saying this season hasn't been a good example of good coaching,OK.
The Cowboy's staff got out coached in the second half yesterday but fire the staff,no way.

Edit; I've seen Marinelli make chicken soup out of chicken swat for too long.

Who didn't think this team wasn't going to struggle the first half of the season,I did.

I hear you, Coach.
But I don't see any of the HC or DCs getting fired.
Yes, JG should man up here though.

I think they assume that we would've had three straight 12-4 or 13-3 like seasons if the gap between Dak and Tony was not there. Who knows if it's true, but that is probably the assumption.
My guess is also that they think they can go 8-4 or better from here on out to get to 10-6 or 11-5. Again, not saying they can, but I bet that is the assumption.

I'm not saying Garrett will step down, I think he needs to come out and take responsibility. If his players and coaches respect him, they will hate to see their leader taking fault for their actions, it would spur them to get their act in gear. I do think it's too early, but if we are at or below .500 after 8 - 10 games, something may need to happen.

I'll defend Garrett for 2015. The QB situation was a mess and the defense hasn't been good enough to carry this team in a long time.

But this year is different. While we're replacing several guys that's not unusual in today's NFL. Still 12 games left, so we'll see.

I fondly remember the Landry years and the innovation that he and his staff brought.
The team was unpredictable, and the flex defense adapted to any offensive scheme.

We loved those guys, and they had one of the most dominant runs of success in NFL history.
But even they got out-coached and out innovated over time, and finally had to be retired.

It appears that we've brought in a very good leader of men in JG. Linehan has been a good offensive mind, and Marinelli is a dated guru.
Steven is a breath of fresh air and a more steady hand.
McClay has been a wizard.
The staff appears to actually like working together, and they seem to have bought in to the current philosophy.

Therefore, it won't be easy to break up this group; a replacement here and there may not make the kind of difference that is needed.
Garrett is not Belichick, or even Parcells -- not even close.

When the time comes to make a change, I believe the entire staff has to go, and start over with a strong innovative FB coach.
Right now I'd take LA's.

I will take the blame for last week since I was in Chitown all week for the annual burger convention meeting and thus was not prepared for a letdown. As for Red...he should man up and admit the game is above what he can bring to the table on a consistent basis let alone in game adjustments.

We just don't have the talent on defense to run Rod's scheme. You have to be able to put pressure with the front 4 and that aint happening anytime soon. He just seems completely unwilling to go away from his comfort zone to tweak things to what the personnel does best. IMO woods, Jones, Lewis and Brown are much better at press coverage but Rod will not stick with it especially when the game is on the line. Heath should of spent half the game in the box yesterday, especially when Austin was in the backfield and on first down. The Rams were in 3rd and less than 5 the whole game.

The Seahawks are built around having a top 5 defense, Dallas is the opposite, they spend all their money on the offensive side of the ball and they just aren't getting it done well enough to make up for the huge holes on the defense.

This tired mantra is incorrect. Marinelli hasn't done anything really with what he has. Letting them run up and down the field and then trying to stiffen op in the red zone due to the reduced playing area is a losers mentality. Marinelli has had a pass because of poor players but his players are better now but the play isn't any better overall.

I agree. Rod should change his scheme to fit his personnel.

I may deserve some blame. Early in the game I got cocky and told my wife we'd go do something after the win. Switzer fumbled like two minutes later.
Needless to say my whole family suffered a day stranded at home with a fairly drunk depressed dad.

I'm stupid.

Sean McVay is an ascending coach no doubt about that.

I use to think continuity in leadership verses firing everyone and startring over was more advantageous...but i watched Jeff Fisher for millions of years with the Rams and they were no good..and then this year they cleaned house and started over and the Rams are number one scoring team in NFL...but with cowboys...Jerry last lap of life....and he is worth north of 4 billion from 120 or 160 miillion in 1988...so I dont think Jerry sees any problem...so nothing will happen
