For some perspective on what "Hard Knocks" likes to focus on, these were the story-lines for the Chiefs last year, in no particular order.
- Lots of Herm Edwards and Carl Peterson (GM).
- Gunther Cunningham, the ex Chiefs HC who returned to be the DC (sorta like Campo).
- Starting QB battle between Damon Huard and Brodie Croyle.
- Boomer Grigsby, converted LB turned FB trying to make the team (Oliver Hoyte style).
- Brotherly love/hate friendship of Tony Gonzalez and his long-time backup, Jason Dunn.
- Justin Phinisee (currently a Cowboy, #40), a CB/KR trying to make the team after the signing of Eddie Drummond.
- Larry Johnson's holdout and contract situation.
- Kyle Turley's NFL journey, and his maturation since tossing the Jets helmet.
- A lot of focus on the rookie ups and downs of Dwayne Bowe (1st rounder), Tank Tyler (3rd rounder), Turk McBride (2nd rounder), Justin Medlock (5th rounder), Tyron Brackenridge (FA), Dimitri Patterson (FA), Bobby Sippio (FA, ex Arena League star).
And lots of other good stuff that I'm surely forgetting. Even though it was the Chiefs, I was addicted to last year's season.
Lot of fun, behind-closed-doors stuff that we as fans never get to see. It's the ultimate reality show, tailor-made for us die-hard NFL fans.
I CAN'T WAIT for the '08 Cowboys to be featured.
