The bright side of this thread is we don't have anyone with a real reason not to show up this year. Last year, Barber and Hamlin were seeking long-term deals, but this year, everyone is either under contract, or haven't proven themselves enough to seek more than the restricted free agent deals they received.

We're still working on the Ware extension, but he doesn't seem to be worried about that getting done and the Cowboys have said it's a priority. And I don't think anyone else with one year remaining on his deal is in position to try to force an extension.

No one has a reason to not get in and get to work washing the bitter taste of last season out of his mouth (although I'm sure Ellis will soon complain about his role).

A lot of fans seem to really dislike Patrick Crayton.

I don't get it.

We're talking about a player that wanted to be a Cowboy and forewent the opportunity to test free agency after the '07 season.

And he was rewarded by getting benched for a completely ineffective Roy Williams in '08.

Nope, he went about his work and tried to help the team however they needed him.
