I'm still leary of Talib. Not sure I want to invest a #1 in him. He will be solid but not anything special as a pro.

You know, with Talib I think it's just a matter of what kind of system he gets put in. If he's asked to play in a Green Bay style press coverage, turn and run defense then he's only going to have marginal success, if any. I think he could fit into a system like ours though, where the CBs play further off and break forward towards the ball a lot of the time. Talib is pretty good at breaking towards the ball out of his backpedal and he had excellent ball skills. It's something that Henry has been successful in for us and he ran a 4.6 at the combine.

I do not think Talib is all that quick either.

Look at how many RBs from the 3rd and 4th rd do (MB3 was a 4th). There are plenty of good RBs like Tashard Choice who will be there in the third and fourth.

#22: CB Aqib Talib

He's a playmaker who can be eased into the 3rd CB spot. He'll eventually take over for Henry which will probably be soon.

#28: WR Mario Manningham

He's the lightning to T.O.'s thunder. Drafting Manningham will allow T.O. to do what he does best, work the middle of the field, while letting Super Mario be our new deep threat. Crayton is one of the best #3 WR's in the league.

#61: RB Jamaal Charles

I just got done watching a highlight film of this guy and he is EXPLOSIVE. He has amazing break away speed, something Barber doesn't posses (see the NYG playoff game). Charles would end up complimenting Barber very well.

Thoughts?

love it

I could definately live with this. I like Charles in the 2nd. And he is explosive. But he seemed to be a bit injury prone at times. But maybe that is something the trainers can work on. Because it wasn't big injuries. But that would be a great day 1 draft.

I may have to switch Manningham with WR James Hardy based on Manningham's 40 time...

DMAC also ran a 4.33, noticed you forgot about his second run.

Don't buy combine numbers for a second. Never have, never will.

What I do trust is an NCAA All American in 60m indoor, 100m outdoor, 200m outdoor, 4x100m relay outdoor.

While Charles is certainly fast it's pretty obvious he isn't, for sure, faster than any other runningback in draft.

Not to mention, as I heard mentioned by Rod Woodson, Marshall Faulk, and others things combine speed and track speed doesn't necassarily translate to football speed.

I am sure Charles is fast but what he runs on a track, with no pads and such on, isn't what he's necassarily going to run on a football field.

Hes obviously fast but not necassarily the fastest RB in the draft. It's possible McFadden or Johnson are faster. Don't know, for sure, that they are but it would appear they have a shot to be.
