Barber has done far more to prove that he can have success while carrying a full load than Choice has. Here's a list of all the games where Barber has received 18+ carries...

22 carries, 95 yards
27 carries, 127 yards, 2 TD
19 carries, 96 yards, 1 TD
18 carries, 103 yards, 1 TD
22 carries, 110 yards, 1 TD
18 carries, 63 yards, 1 TD
28 carries, 142 yards, 1 TD
23 carries, 84 yards
18 carries, 100 yards, 1 TD
25 carries, 71 yards
19 carries, 54 yards
24 carries, 114 yards, 1 TD
19 carries, 59 yards
18 carries, 124 yards, 1 TD
20 carries, 99 yards

Total

320 carries, 1441 yards, 4.5 YPC, 10 TD

The same info on Choice...

23 carries, 88 yards
18 carries, 82 yards, 1 TD

Total

41 carries, 170 yards, 4.1 YPC, 1 TD

Who has more to prove?

Barber is not the same.

Some of these posts remind me of the Hambrick/Smith debate from years ago.

And yet he's just as effective as he's been since he got here. The only thing that's changed is his # of carries inside the 20, so he has fewer TDs.

No, he doesn't pass the eye test. He doesn't run the same anymore.

Take the numbers down to 16 carries a game, 4 carries per quarter, and the stats stay almost the same...

18 carries, 103 yards, 1 TD
22 carries, 110 yards, 1 TD

19 carries, 54 yards
24 carries, 114 yards, 1 TD
19 carries, 59 yards
18 carries, 124 yards, 1 TD
20 carries, 99 yards
--------------------------
16 carries, 83 yards
16 carries, 56 yards, 1 TD
17 carries, 81 yards
16 carries, 80 yards, 2 TD
17 carries, 45 yards

Total

402 carries, 1786 yards, 4.44 YPC, 13 TD

You'd have to be foolish to argue that anything less than 16 carries is still a "full load".

Oh, so you just care that he's not running people over, not how effective he's been?

and the fact that since he became the #1 rb he's gotten hurt and missed time cause like I said he can't handle the full load

Wow, I never would have guessed that getting hurt playing in NFL meant a RB couldn't handle a full load. We should probably put Steven Jackson, Thomas Jones, Michael Turner, Frank Gore, etc. on notice huh?

Start off with Felix, then finish with Barber.

Bingo - the notion that Felix is injury-prone in the NFL is a little premature. He is a major force that has to be accounted for by the defense on every snap and will open up the vertical passing game.

did they get hurt and miss time every year since they became the starter like Barber?

Barber gets less carries than all of those guys

Barber is not as good as any of those backs.

Barber is also slower than all of those backs including Thomas Jones who's in his 10th season.

None of them. I'd eliminate the RB position and carry 8 WRs with varied skills.

But if I was forced to choose:
1. Felix
2. Barber
3. Choice

None. Equal carries to start a game and go with the one who is getting the most out of each run.

Thomas Jones' first year as a starter was in 2004, he's had one 16 start season since then.

Steven Jackson has been injured every year but one since he's been drafted.

Turner is in only his second year as a starter and is already hurt.

Gore has had one 16 start season in his career.

Perhaps Barber isn't as good as those guys, but that's not why I brought their names up. You said that Barber got injured and that was evidence that he couldn't handle a full load, yet there are plenty of other successful full time RBs in the NFL who also have yearly injuries. I also wasn't aware that speed is what defined how good a RB was. Something tells me I may be able to think of an example of a RB who had great success without being blazingly fast...the name escapes me though.
