Who would win?

Got into a little debate last night and need some insight. Who would win between :

• A silverback gorilla vs a grizzly bear. Silverback is allowed to pick up things like tree limbs, trash cans etc
• A heavyweight women's mma champ vs lightweight men's mma champ
• Two marine battalions w weapons vs all native Americans tribes combined in the 1800s
• One US tank vs all the knights in England. Tank has unlimited gas and ammo
• Rhino vs hippo in a death match

It's probably worth noting that if you're using the UFC as an example - Men's lightweight is 155 lbs, women's heaviest weight class is 135.

If you're talking about just following straight weight classes, then that means a 265 lb MMA trained woman vs a 125 lbs MMA trained man. Which is no contest.

Even in the mens division, it's considered cowardly to call out someone in a lower weight class than you because size plays such a huge role.

Grizzly - claws and teeth. Just a much more impressive species.

Lightweight men's. Wouldn't even be close.

Marines. Much more advanced tactics.

Tank. Watch the San Diego 'high speed chase' with the tank. The cops were helpless until the guy accidentally got stuck on the median.

I would tend to think Hippo. Hippos kill more people than any animal in Africa. Incredibly impressive species as well.

There are circumstances that matter that aren't mentioned. Terrain for one.

• Gorilla vs Grizzly: Grizzly in nearly every circumstance. I don't think Gorilla's actually pick up weapons all of that often..
• Woman vs Man would depend on their respective martial arts and the actually weight/size difference.
• Two Marine battalions would be 1,920 men. What weapons exactly? What's the terrain of the battlefield? Who, if any, has surprise? What weapons do the tribes have? In most cases the Marines would probably win, but there are scenarios in which they would not.
• Again, terrain and setup is critical for this match. Out of water with some distance between them at first gives the advantage to the Rhino. Close up starting or in-water gives the advantage to the hippo.

I think a few thousand knights may win vs the tank.
For one thing, they just wait them out until they ran out of food and water
But also, if they engaged, they could engulf the tank in tar and light it on fire (and continue to do so for days) and also, by sheer numbers and access to metal, possible disengage the tank tracks. it'd be close, b/c the tank's machine gun could keep them at bay. Can't recall if a tank has a rear machine gun as well now...used to not.

I don't see Marine battalions losing....especially if they had unlimited ammo.

Lightweight male wins MMA challenge

Hippo unless the Rhino got a great first strike and curried that horn to the heart.

Maybe you mean a Gorilla is quicker in close range?
Grizzley bears are way faster, speed-wise.
They also get up to 1800 lbs --so 4-5 times the size of a silver back
They're so powerful that it's possible a super hard swipe from a huge one may even almost decapitate a gorilla.

It's be wild to watch that battle

Some of you need to study up on African animals. A rhino has no chance vs a hippo on land or in water. They have flat teeth like molars and their mouth doesn't open up that much. A hippo can almost go to 180 degrees with long, tusk-like teeth.

Oh, but a rhino has a horn you say? It would not penetrate the hide and fat layers. If the rhino didn't die from puncture wounds, this would be nothing more than a sumo match but in no way could a rhino kill a hippo

It depends on how many beers they drink before the battle.
A drunk gorilla will tickle a grizzly until it pees....

I forgot to weigh in on the tank vs knights: It depends on the tank and the battlefield. Working out how to prevent its mobility would be job number one and they might see the way to do it is to jam up the treadworks. England would lose a lot of knights, but I think they'd eventually win. Sometimes sufficient numbers can overcome superior firepower.

Korea's Battle of Chosin Reservoir ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_of_Chosin_Reservoir ) is a good example of this. In fact, this example works on the Marines vs Native Americans too.

How many would you say that would be? If you're talking about 100,000s or more, a thousand Marines aren't winning. Sheer numbers.
