Who would win?

Got into a little debate last night and need some insight. Who would win between :

• A silverback gorilla vs a grizzly bear. Silverback is allowed to pick up things like tree limbs, trash cans etc
• A heavyweight women's mma champ vs lightweight men's mma champ
• Two marine battalions w weapons vs all native Americans tribes combined in the 1800s
• One US tank vs all the knights in England. Tank has unlimited gas and ammo
• Rhino vs hippo in a death match

lol. WTH. How, exactly did you get into this ..ah..debate to begin with...too much Tequila?? lol. Rhino vrs Hippo in a death match?? No referee?

Some of you need to study up on African animals. A rhino has no chance vs a hippo on land or in water. They have flat teeth like molars and their mouth doesn't open up that much. A hippo can almost go to 180 degrees with long, tusk-like teeth.

Oh, but a rhino has a horn you say? It would not penetrate the hide and fat layers. If the rhino didn't die from puncture wounds, this would be nothing more than a sumo match but in no way could a rhino kill a hippo

I'm going against the grain and say a gorilla (adult male) would take down a grizzly. I think it's shear strength, agility, quickness and ability to wrestle would enable it to get the bear in position where it's claws and teeth (gorillas got some gnarly teeth too) could be made ineffective. Heck, we all saw a gorilla take down a dinosaur in King Kong so there you go! lol

Great debate you guys had there, must have been a fun conversation.

Bar talk bro. We were talking about a big bouncer like 6'5 350 lbs vs a 6'2 255 lb linebacker type in a fight so that turned into a grizzly bear vs silver back ( the silback being smaller in weight but denser in muscle ). Then two shots later....

How many would you say that would be? If you're talking about 100,000s or more, a thousand Marines aren't winning. Sheer numbers.

Yeah, I'm going Native Americans on this one. There were Approximately 600,000 of them in 1800 vs less than 2000 Marines, and they would have guns not just bow and arrows.

Unless, of course, the Marine's have their air power, vehicles, and explosives included. But just Riflemen? I'm taken the tribe.

Grizzly bear wins. It has more ways to fatally injure the Gorilla. He connects with one time with that force and claws and it's game over.

Lightweight men's mma.

Two marine batallions. Wouldn't want to see that blood bath.

Unlimited food for the operators? Because that's going to take a while.

Sheer numbers would overwhelm the marines unless the marines had access to grenades, mines, missile launchers, etc. If it was just assault rifles and pistols? Bye bye marines, sadly. That's assuming tens of thousands of Natives, if not 140k.

Not so sure about that, say you have 1600 Marines with AR-15s with 4, 30 round magazines each. This adds up to around 96, 000 rounds. Even taking into consideration that each Indian would be shot more then once that's still a lot of dead Indians. And if Chesty Puller was there, forget it.

Not so sure about that, say you have 1600 Marines with AR-15s with 4, 30 round magazines each. This adds up to around 96, 000 rounds. Even taking into consideration that each Indian would be shot more then once that's still a lot of dead Indians. And if Chesty Puller was there, forget it.

Natives would be able to get enough close enough to start taking down marines. Then it's a matter of attrition. All things being equal, the numbers would win in this case. However, the terrain, time of day/night, etc could play a crucial role. Do you know what can shoot over the top of a hill? Arrows. An arrow storm would be hellaciously intimidating. Know what can't shoot over the top of a hill? Assault rifles. That's why I said there are too many missing factors to call it so you'd have to default to the sheer numbers.

Well since it is supposed to be 2 Marine Infantry Battalions I would assume they would have the standard armament. No amount of "arrow storms" or 18th century rifles could match highly trained Marines with Assault Rifles, .50 caliber Machine guns and mortars. It would be a bloodbath.

That's the point, the weapons matter, as does the terrain. They weren't stated however.
