Since we are going up against the Eagles this week, I feel a necessary question to ask is who would you rather have on your squad.Brian Dawkins or Roy Williams? Now im pretty biased when i say Roy but Dawk dude can play. He is all over the field and plays his heart out. But.... He dont lay the wood like Roy does day in and day out. Plus, with Roys coverage getting better and him being younger, I feel its a no-brainer. How bout you guys?Whos the better player???:star:

I prefer Roy

Roy, by far. But I'd like it if we utilized Roy the way the Eagles utilized Dawkins 2-4 years ago.

I must agree. Roy's pass coverage skill are improving. I will attribute this to BP and the coaching staff. (Yes I do give credit where credit is due.) I just hope he doesn't have a relapse...

Letme preface this by saying Dawkins is AWESOME. But, his best playing days are behind himand Roy's are ahead ofhim. That's not the ONLY reason I would pick Roy, but it's a pretty significant one.

Questions like this, along with "do you think we'll win this weekend" always crack me up.

Let's see, this is a Cowboys message board... what do we think the answer will be? :D

By the way, Roy is 100% better! Dawkins can't carry his jock strap!

Let me first say that I love Roy Williams....... but If both guys are the same age, Dawkins would probably edge him out for me. Obviously Dawkins has played on a more established overall good D which has helped him look very good.

Very tough call but he would be my choice. I've always admired the extreme passion and skills that he brings to the game week after week.

At this point its not close, you gotta take Roy. But in Dawkins prime i would have chosen him over Williams. I hate him cause he is an Eagles player but there is no denying that he has been a beast for a long time especially in his younger days

Dawkins also got the benefit of a great defensive front that could apply a lot of pressure through most of his career. I think Dawkins is a fine player but I don't think he is or ever was the intimidating factor that Roy is. Roy flat out knocks people out and I think as the Dallas pass rush gets better you will see a sharp increase in his ints.

Dawkins is still formidable, but is in his decline, so I'd rather have Roy NOW.

It's impossible to compare Roy in his prime to Dawkins in his, because Roy hasn't hit his yet, but I will be very happy if Roy can become the field general Dawkins was/is.

But if I could have either Dawkins or Woodson in his prime, I'd take Woody.

Dawkins while not as intimidating as Roy, he was still intimidating. He could deliver a hit almost as good as anyone not named Roy. You make a good point about the pressure but still Dawkins in his prime was better in coverage because of his better speed and quickness. he could be lined up against receivers like we used to do with Woodson and do a very good job of shutting down the receiver. not a knock on Roy or anything as i think he has a chance to become a better player than Dawkins was in his prime but i think at this point you have to go with Dawkins being a better player in his prime.

I really don't think it matters. Either helps your defense, either will help you win. Both are classy guys, good team guys, etc. I really don't see why I have to pick favorites (if my Homer Glasses are off). They are both great players.

1. Roy
2. Dawkins
3. Reed

those are the best three.. Sean Taylor and Troy Polamalu are pretty good, but not in the same class as these three..

Why would I want an Eagle on my team?

If you're talking long haul, than Roy of course b/c of his age. However, I'd take a Dawk in his prime over Roy any day of the week......and twice on Sundays.

We understand ..... being an Eagles fan, we dont expect you to understand football that much.

Seeing as the most famous athlete in philly is "make believe" ...... it makes sense.
