I don't think Emmitt and Herchel was on the team at the same time. We traded him for that boat load of picks and got Emmitt in that draft, I think.

Correct me if I'm wrong.
Herschel came back for a season or two in the mid-90's. I think he peeled off a few long kick returns for us. Man I loved that guy!

This should be the answer:

1.Emmitt
2. Irvin

3. Aikman
why do you think that? i mean hell ill take any of them but i choose Aikman, why did you have the franchise qb at a distance 3rd?

Question about your sig....

How does Glenn and TO combine for 32 TDs at the most and Bledsoe at the most throws for only 30? Do you project him getting hurt, or not throwing to Witten? Just wondering?

I'm glad you asked . :)

Emmitt is the leading rusher of all -time . Irvin was unstoppable . The league had to make new rules to try and stop this guy . Aikman was a system qb , nothing more , nothing less .

Ask yourself this , take away Emmitt or Irvin and would we have won ? answer = no

Take away Aikman and would we have won ? answer = yes .

We've been able to obtain some very solid WR's since Aikman has gone down....Galloway (he didn't get a fair shot with a real QB except for minimal play with Aikman. And it wasnt his decision to trade 2 #1's for himself). Now we have TO. Glenn is still very capable. We had Keyshawn for a while...and no, Im not saying any of these guys are Irvin, but they are still good. We've added Jones and Barber at RB...and those guys arent close to Emmitt's level, but still productive enough.

Brett Favre won a SB with Antonio Freeman and Dorsey Levens, and sure they were good in their prime, but nowhere near Emmitt and Michale.

Aikman was my least favorite of the 3, but believe me, we've seen how hard it is to get settled at QB. Bledsoe gives us at least some consistancy, but finding a franchise guy is very hard. Ill take Aikman.

I would say Troy only cause it is so difficult to find good QBs.

I hate to be cynical but those projections are not very realistic. Owens may well put up those numbers and Ware should rack up a fair number of sacks, but the rest are extremely unlikely. You'd be looking at the most dominant team of all time with those numbers.

Troy...

When I think back on the past few years of QC, VT and DB, it just makes me pray for a QB that isn't color blind when he throws the ball. A "Quality" QB, not someone near the end of their professional life and effective ability or a QB that can't pass a drug screening. A QB of the calibur of Troy or Roger.. wishful thinking???

i dunno what cynical means but yeah i know they are "far fetched" but thats part of the reasons i put them like #--# .....and of course the cowboys are going to be the most dominant are you kidding me? ;):laugh2:

Michael Irvin....<He was the key piece to the puzzell...

Just notice when Aikman went down, Jason Garrett came in and was winning games...

Notice if Emmitt Smith went down, Herschal Walker or Sherman Williams came in and we still was winning games...

Now Notice when Michael Irvin went down we go from starting 4-0 to 8-8 so that means we went 4-8 once Irvin dropped...and a loss in the first round...

So I have to say Irvin...
Actually, when Emmitt held out the team started 0-2 after their 1992 Superbowl. It's a bit of a moot point though, because it was the combination of all of them, along with guys like Charles Haley, Jay Novachek and Erik Williams who made those teams great.

If your team had a bad defense for example, which dominant player gives you the best chance to win games?

THE QUARTERBACK...OF COURSE!

You can double, even triple cover a great WR like Michael Irvin and basically shut him out, if he was the only dominant player on offense. You can stack the LOS against a great RB like Emmitt Smith and make him a non-factor using the same principle. However, if you constantly blitz a great QB like Troy Aikman, he will pick a defense apart, by throwing to his mediocre TE's underneath, his average RB's in the flat and his slow WR's in man to man coverage. A great QB always gives your team a chance, even against all odds.

Personally, I think after Troy threw 4 TD's to win the MVP in SB XXVII, he reached the summit as a player and was content to share the wealth after that...so to speak. After watching the Pats duplicate the 3 out of 4 SB streak so quickly though, maybe Aikman resents the run-first philosophy the Cowboys used. Maybe, that's why he seems so anti-Cowboy when he does our games now....who knows.

Anyway, welcome to Canton Troy.

Aikman, and it isnt even close IMO

Hall of Fame, true franchise QB's dont grow on trees...Emmitt and Irvin were both great players, but the QB is the most important position on the team and having a great one is a huge advantage
