All the swirling speculation about who our next head coach will be probably boils down to who will agree to surrender their coaching and personal dignity, and agree to all of the below terms:
  • Must be willing to work well below market value for NFL head coach salaries today and willing to work on incentive laden contract.
  • Must allow owner/GM/GM’s children to select assistant coaches and staff members for the HC with or without consent.
  • Must be willing to allow owner/GM to be “face of the franchise” and dominate all media communication regarding players, games, etc.
  • Must be agreeable to owner/GM naming the “head coach in waiting” and have that guy on his staff.
  • Must be agreeable to owner/GM to interrupt practices at any time with helicopter landings, fan tours, celebrity tours, etc.
  • Must be agreeable to be publicly humiliated by owner/GM at any time.
  • Must agree to be held accountable for the GM and son’s most egregious mistakes.
  • Head coaching experience not as important as being cheap and compliant.
Whoever best fits this description will be hired. In fact, to put it even more succinctly, the two most important qualities JJ and SJ are looking for in the next HC come down to this:
  1. Being cheap
  2. Being compliant
I’ll add one more….

Must be able to fake it and accept anything because you are currently out of work and Jerry is likely to hire when just about every other position is taken, so fake it to get your foot in the door.

Not unlike Mike admitting he lied about how much Dallas film he watched to get the job.

At this point any coach period can do the job

I always find things like this interesting about the 4 teams in the conference championships vs the Cowboys and who exactly is “the face of the franchise”?
  • In Kansas City…it’s Mahomes. (If Pat were in Big D, Jerry would still be the primary spotlight) Could also argue Mahomes shares spotlight with HC Andy Reid)
  • In Buffalo it’s Josh Allen.
  • In Wash it is now Jayden Daniels.
  • In Philly it’s either Jalen Hurts or Saquon Barkley.
In Dallas of course the face of the franchise is Jerry. By design.

As a follow up question, how many average football fans have heard of Brett Veach, Brandon Beane, Howie Roseman, and Adam Peters? If not, those are the GMs of the four teams in the conference championship games. There all between 45 and 49 years old.

The state of this team is very sad and I hope they hire Schottenheimer so I can just stop watching them completely.

We so screwed, BH. Sad part is. I think this clown is sitting back enjoying every minute of pain he's bringing to the fanbase. This guy is really twisted.
