I'm not ashamed to say I'm a "Gurley mon".
I'm not bothered by the ACL injury Gurley sustained. With medical science being what it is, the ACL isn't as devastating as it used to be, and I blame Georgia for rushing Gurley back into the line up and giving him a significant workload, which, I believe, caused the ACL injury. He really wasn't in football shape having sat out several games.
I wouldn't be upset if the Cowboys picked Gordon, but I'm not sold on him like I am Gurley. I was impressed how he ran against Auburn in the Bowl game, but that's not saying much. Auburn's defense was atrocious. Gordon could be another Jamaal Charles or he could be another Darren McFadden.
I just think teams will have to game plan more for Gurley than Gordon, and that will create a pick-your-poison option for the Cowboys (either Gurley or Dez, which are you going to defend).
To me this is a Barry Sanders-Emmitt Smith debate. Sanders would provide the 80-yard sprints to the end zone, but the Lions would usually end up losing. Emmitt was more a "death-by-a-thousand-cuts guy." Six yards here, four yards here, ten yards here. Then, because the defense is so depleted, he'd break off a 13-yard touchdown. I envision Gurley the same way.
Gordon may take your breath away but Gurley will take your will away.
