Its a total mismatch. They don't even use K2 as a traditional TE like Witten is used because Winslow cannot block. K2 is like a slot receiver. You really think Zach Thomas will match up good against an elite TE in space? Seriously who are you people trying to fool?

No one is suggesting that Thomas will be matched up against Winlsow in a man to man situation. I was referring to Thomas' ability to minimize a TE's effectiveness in Zone coverage. He's one of the best at it in the league. Ask Witten.

Zack has been proving people like you wrong for 13 years...I doubt he'll stop doing so this Sunday.

Well next time be more specific. In zone coverage he is the best LB in the league at it.

And he won't prove me wrong. Because he will not ever in his career shut down elite tightends man to man.

Whoa guys!!!! Did you guys forget that we have Zach Thomas? RW is out of the passing situations for the most part.

Zach Thomas can cover!! He also has bulked up to over 240. Yes, he doesn't have Winslows size but has the smarts that most don't have.

Also, in some packages, the Cowboys may play Henry over the TE, like they practiced in camp. We have the depth to be versatile.

I don't think Zach Thomas could cover Winslow in his prime

That's funny. Our pro bowl TE that many refer to as the best TE in the league...including the guy you're suggesting can't be covered by Thomas...has publicly credited that very player (Thomas) for controlling him in our game against the Dolphins last year. He held him to 2 catches for 27 yards...not bad for being 'washed up'.

....but you obviously would know better.

Where is specific at? Where did you ever mention zone coverage. The way yall are talking about him makes me think you are talking about man 2 man.

Well, when someone says this:

Probably nobody. I'm guessing they'll play zone all game long (with huge cushions) and Winslow will get about 120 yards.

...and I respond with this:

Honestly, that might be our best option. As effective as Thomas was in coverage against Witten last year, zone may be our best bet against premier TE's right now. Just give him help over the top.

I think it's pretty clear I was referring to his fear of Zone coverage.

That is part of Wade's ouevre.

Wade sometimes can be hard-headed, like on this one.

And that is why he might be 0-3 in playoff games? Or is it 0-4?

Yeah, play RW on someone like Winslow. Yeah, that makes sense, Wade, you idgit.

Roy most likely and I pray he doesn't screw up. I want him to prove me wrong. Prove that his best days aren't behind him and he's a liability. If he can, the sig comes down.

Newman's injury shouldn't affect the coverage on Winslow at all. Scandrick takes Newman's spot in the dime defense, and everyone else plays in their normal positions.

This is why our pass rush needs to have a monster game.

I am hoping for a Dallas 34 - 14 victory tomorrow

Romo to TO for 3 TDs

Winslow for 2 TDs

That would give me 8 TDs tomorrow

:)

Our corners are good enough that we can commit a LB and a safety to covering him. I wouldn't expect to see him in 1 on 1 coverage very often.
