Its a total mismatch. They don't even use K2 as a traditional TE like Witten is used because Winslow cannot block. K2 is like a slot receiver. You really think Zach Thomas will match up good against an elite TE in space? Seriously who are you people trying to fool?

Zach Thomas can cover!! He also has bulked up to over 240. Yes, he doesn't have Winslows size but has the smarts that most don't have.

Also, in some packages, the Cowboys may play Henry over the TE, like they practiced in camp. We have the depth to be versatile.

I don't think Zach Thomas could cover Winslow in his prime

Our pro bowl TE that many refer to as the best TE in the league...including the guy you're suggesting can't be covered by Thomas...has publicly credited that very player (Thomas) for controlling him in our game against the Dolphins last year. He held him to 2 catches for 27 yards...not bad for being 'washed up'.

Honestly, that might be our best option. As effective as Thomas was in coverage against Witten last year, zone may be our best bet against premier TE's right now. Just give him help over the top.

Newman's injury shouldn't affect the coverage on Winslow at all. Scandrick takes Newman's spot in the dime defense, and everyone else plays in their normal positions.

Our corners are good enough that we can commit a LB and a safety to covering him. I wouldn't expect to see him in 1 on 1 coverage very often.
