Whos the blame for the decline in the running game?

How about 5 of the first 7 carries going to Zeke for 6 yards instead of Dowdle? Plus another 2 yard run with Lamb lined up at tailback.

I wonder whose decision it was to get Zeke more involved after Dowdle balled out last week.

Jerry is always the problem, along with his cheap soon.

I have a lot of dislike towards those two.
The Front Office AND Dak's ASININE contract is to blame for the inability to pay for a decent running game.
Thanks to that ridiculous contract, we are relegated to mediocre RBs (and mediocre other positions - more than usual), which makes Dak even worse...
Dak's idiocy and greed has doomed himself, our offense, our entire team AND any chance at winning a Superbowl.

To be fair Dak's contract didn't stop them from drafting a RB.

or from getting Henry.. there is plenty of space in the Cap.. I too blame the FO for doing absolutely nothing. (as much as I have loved Zeke over the years, I don't count him as doing something)

Our running back crew was all picked up for pennies in Aisle 8 (back near the toilet paper) at Dollar Tree. Who bears responsibility for that?

Is Leupke # 2 option at this point ? It’s hard to make a case for anyone else but Dowdle and Leupke getting touches out of the backfield . An occasional series I guess for Zeke to give 23 a breather .
Just cut Zeke during the bye week. use him to send a bit of a message to the team. At least pretend to have some accountability. Cutting Zeke is both needed, and an easy move to make. Cut Vaughn while you are at it. Let's stop screwing around with this.

Yeah, can just find anyone in the 6th or 7th or sign any washed up back and we're set. right?
With a good oline and scheme of course. Do you even watch teams not named Dallas? Lol that goes for whoever liked that silly post too

The RBs are "a dime a dozen." philosophy helped contribute to it.

Many things impact the success of the run game; the talent at the RB position is only one of them.

Starting multiple rookie Olineman hurts the run game.

Moving off of your most seasoned Olineman hurts the running game. It’s not just about ability but continuity; know-how.

Depreciating WR core hurts the run game. When teams know it’s only going to Lamb over the top or Ferguson underneath, they can load up on stopping the run.

Also being behind so much every game. You don’t run when you can’t. Running games need to “get going,” sometimes taking 5-10 runs before a RB really starts eating up yardage. When was the last time a single back had 25 carries for the Cowboys? It was probably Zeke, and it was probably a very successful day.

Every single decision made this offseason hurt the run game a little bit more. From ignoring the available stars to releasing Gallup to cutting Tyron to signing Zeke to shedding all the defensive talent to bringing in Zimmer to drafting rookie starting Olineman.

Not really. Most top backs are taken in the 1st-4th rounds.
That's not what you said. You said we can get anybody and we're set. I Saud yes. Who mentioned a top back? Is Jordan Mason a top back? And don't worry I have plenty more examples

The GM is where the buck stops.

Thinking he could have a running games behind an offensive line with 2 rookies, and a prayer that Steele would somehow come back like the Steele before the injury was just incompetence. On top of that he keeps Zeke, Rico, and Deuce at RB. No speed to get outside at all.

While I think Derrick Henry is great, I don't see him having any success being on the Cowboys with an offensive line that can't open any holes. Henry would look washed up playing for Dallas.
