Whos the blame for the decline in the running game?

The OL play has been declining for years. The blocking has been failing for years. The pass routes have been questionable. The balanced offense disappeared when KMoore was the OC. While names like Dak and Zeke come to question immediately and unforgiving after bad team performances, just don't forget the OL play. Now Zack Martin is starting to look bad, and we don't have a WR2 that an Opponent DC even considers in the game plan. The blame list is longer than just two names.

And as far as offensive scheme.......Detroit reviewed the same route to Cee Dee against Pitt, that yielded an endzone interception for them too. Detroit DB knew the pass wasn't coming to Tolbert. Bet it........coaching. MM will get fired.....but Jerry will name KMoore as the next coach for 2025. It only makes sense to the illogical.

Now for the Monday morning comics.......brace for the Stephen A Comedy show. Brace for all the comedic fun he is going to have. Let it go. We all know Stephen A is a ratings and attention grabber and today will be like there are no other sporting events to discuss. Par for the course. Team will have earned more rock throwing.

the guy who signs the checks.
The guy who is in charge of everything from “jocks to socks” and continues to land his helicopter at practices, Star in Ford truck commercials and spends loads of time negotiating boxing matches, concerts Indy car races and tractor pulls at AT&T. You know…like all the other NFL GMs do…

Zeke is done...

Jerry is always the problem, along with his cheap soon.

I have a lot of dislike towards those two.
We'll be in worse hands with Stephen. There are moves that can be made now to make us competitive now. Amari wouldn't cost much after his restructure and Miles Sanders definitely couldn't hurt. They overpay our guys and refuse to go outside for help and wonder why we can't get past the first round. And the coaching...they need a young innovative offensive coach and a really good DC but they probably already got an old coach like Belicheck on speed dial and a minority guy to interview to satisfy the RR, with no chance of being hired. But they're making money so....

That's not what you said. You said we can get anybody and we're set. I Saud yes. Who mentioned a top back? Is Jordan Mason a top back? And don't worry I have plenty more examples
You said its just schemes. Many keep saying we can wait til the 6th or 7th or sign scrubs since RBs arent vital.

Sure there are outliers, but the vast majority of quality backs are drafted 1st to 4th rounds.

no you just don't get it. Look at any Shanahan, Callahan or Andy Reid team and they all have good schemes. Kc picked up Kareem hunt off the trash heap and he got 100 yards. Are you going to lie and tell me it's because he's so good or chiefs oline is magical? STOP IT

Its the Chiefs. Yes a team with Mahomes and Reid or Brady and Belichick can make it work.
But schemes isnt going to get it done with Rico, washed up Zeke or Deuce.

I just named Shanahan, Kubiak amd Reid. You do know there are multiple coaches under Shanahan tree right? You do know if hunt went to the rams he'd still get yards RIGHT?

Garrett had nothing to do with Zeke’s success. Zeke was running behind arguably the best OL in the entire league as a rookie in 2016. That’s a big part of the reason why he had such success early on. Just two years earlier DeMarco Murray put up over 1800 yards behind that OL. Do you also want to credit Garrett for that? lol Once the OL started to decline it became more of a struggle for Zeke. He then started coming up with some injuries and declined.
I'd give Garrett credit for building the line.

They don't just "make it work". Defenses aren't going to stack the line to stop the run game, so the rushers that have real QBs, even if their OL is average, can do pretty well.

Had zero to do with it. Frederick was a Callahan and Romo decision. Both Stephen and Garrett thought, even on draft day, they were picking Sharif Floyd. Zach Martin was on the board, but they had 2 defensive players ahead of him on the board, but they were both picked by the time he got there. Tyron Smith was a need, because Flozell Adams bounced and they needed a left tackle. Jerry well knew they needed that as a priority to protect Romo's blind side. They already experienced disaster in 2005 when he got injured and the OL gave up like 60 sacks, like 50 in 10 games.

And anybody that says Moore didn't run the ball is not at all supported by the stats. The only outlier is 2022, when Dak got hurt and they were playing from behind and racking up garbage stats. Otherwise, they were pretty much a top 10 rushing team in all rushing stats.

The numbers actually dropped when Moore left and BS became OC, but MM was calling the plays.

Zeke was a pro bowler with garrett. I believe he'd still get over 1000 if Garrett was still here.
The OL mainly ( & Mark Solari / schottenheimer)

Even Garett is calling cowboys not physical on both sides ( OL and DL ) , if you can’t control the line of scrimmage, even D. Henry can’t do much .

I remember when we hired Schottenheimer, Seattle fans were rejoicing because he destroyed their running game.
