The players, it is their job and if they are without passion they need to seek a new career.

Thats BP talk right there.

Coaches teach and give an example of heart. Certain players feed from that and become leaders and then it trickles to the other players.

This is the same concept in the military.

It is obvious this team has no heart with BP saying it is up to the players. He should study up on Patten and learn something.

I thought I would never be more embarrassed to be a COWBOYS fan than after losing to the Texans on opening day of '02, but after watching the team put on such lackluster performances in losing to the Saints and Eagles, I am more embarrassed than ever. How can a team with SO MUCH riding on these two games go out there and perform at that such a pitiful level? I'm having a hard time deciding whether the blame for a non-professional effort should fall on the players or on the coaching staff. What do you all think?:bang2:

that team in 02 showed heart while posting a 4-4 record at home... that Texans game was a set up and I'm not sure if the 06 Boys could have won that game! I know people wanna bring that team down because of Campo and Carter... the fact is I was never embarrassed by their effort just the talent!!! Wasnt that the year MeO stood on the Star? yeah That team had heart just not much more!!!

Heart isn't really the issue. The team comes into the games amped up. But it looks like the team is less than enthused to block for Julius and the defense just doesn't scare anybody because it's so obvious what they are going to do.

We are lacking veteran leadership that Romo can't provide, Bledsoe was the heart and soul of this team and kept games close and down to the wire no matter how good or bad his 'stats' were. It's all about wins ands losses...

You forgot to mention that they've also lost their leader, QC. The team hasn't won five in a row or beat a good team since he left. Think about it.

you are such a dork.

We should blame the Wizard of Oz. He gave the heart to the Tin Man.

Are you smoking something?

With Bledsoe starting this whole year, we are a sub .500 team and not even in the playoffs.......is it Romo's fault our defense can't stop anyone?

You know, most people would say that people being paid as much as pro football players should not need any motivation from their coaches but I think it makes a big difference. When I was in high school playing football, our team had a long history of losing. After my junior year the head coach was fired and one the assistant coaches was given the job. When the assistant got the job he started displaying emotion on the practice field and in the locker room that the previous head coach had never shown. It lit a fire under our team and we had our first winning season in a decade under this new coach. The x's and o's were basically the same and there was no major infusion of talent, just a coach who had us pumped up and ready to play. Jimmy Johnson was very good at this, as displayed in his famous "How bout them Cowboys!" quote. So after saying all of this I think BP has a lot of blame for not having his team fired up!
