I would pick the chargers if the cowboys were no more. Love those powder blue throwbacks.

San Diego going back to the old AFL. They were very good on offense with John Hadl, Keith Lincoln, Paul Lowe and Lance Alworth.

That was a great team. Don't forget the original "Big Cat" Ernie Ladd!

I met him once in 1965 at the SD Zoo. The Chargers were doing some promotional shots and he was there. I was about 7 at the time and thought he was the biggest man in the world (he was 6'9" and about 315). My dad told me Wilt Chamberlain was taller but I didn't believe him at the time. I played volleyball against Wilt many years later and found that my dad was right! :D

That I have!

I met a lot of pro football/basketball/volleyball players when I lived in L.A.

My dad was a grocery store manager and Lamar Lundy used to shop at his store. They became friends and he invited us to a BBQ he was having with "some friends". His friends turned out to be most of the 1967 Rams! Talk about a treat for a 9-year old!

Deacon Jones looked like the meanest guy in the world but he was great. He & Merlin Olsen played with all the kids and were very friendly. Roger Brown was freakin HUGE and Rosey Grier was there even though he wasn't with the team any more. Those two were some massive guys.

They gave me a lot of grief because I was a Cowboys fan living in L.A. but it was all good natured stuff.

I played beach volleyball professionally in the late 70s and played some of the great names at the time including a very young Karch Kirally. Got slaughtered by Ron Von Hagen and Sinjin Smith in a tournament. For anyone who knows beach volleyball that's the equivalent of Babe Ruth and Michael Jordan.

In the 80s I played Basketball with Marcus Allen and Howie Long a couple of times at a park in Manhattan Beach. I also played with some former NBA players, Jamaal Wilkes and Marques Johnson. Met Jerry West & Mitch Kupchak at the Forum once when I went to pick up a friend who worked in the office there. Kurt Rambis lived in my sister's complex and I played a pickup game with him once.

Almost got my butt kicked by Lyle Alzado because I was checking out his woman while we were in line at a theater. She was HOT! and he didn't like the way I was looking at her and got in my face. I was so distracted by how great she looked that I didn't notice him until he was in my chest and pushing me back. I suddenly realized my imminent danger and apologized profusely. I am a bit taller than him but his chest & arms were about twice the size of mine and I thought it was probably a good idea just to leave him alone.

When I was playing football in high school, our HC knew John McKay, who was the HC at USC, and told him about his star LB so McKay came to see me play. After the game he wanted to talk to me and I thought it was going to tell me how much he wanted to recruit me to USC in a couple of years (I was a freshman at the time) but he gave me a dressing down about my "me-first" attitude and how undisciplined I was. He said he would NEVER recruit a player like me no matter how much talent I had. (I had gotten a couple of personal fouls called on me in the game for late hits.) Needless to say, I was crushed. I was a UCLA fan anyway but that really made me hate USC from then on.

There were several others but those were the major highlights.

Well, except of course when I met Bob Lilly before a preseason game in 1963. That's what made me a Cowboys fan in the first place. :starspin

Yeah, I forgot about him, but I was into offense. That's why I liked watching the AFL, a lot of offense.

I was walking through the Atlanta airport back in the early 90's and I saw some big guys, real tall, then I see the tallest guy I have ever seen. When I got closer to him, I recognized him, it was Manute Bol. I think he's like 7'6", but very thin. I think that when he was with the 76ers and the others were part of the team.

I like watching Baltimore's defense and Indy's offense. So I like to see them play each other. I liked KC when **** Vermeil was the coach, that offense was unreal.

for me its the titans, just because of vince young. If colt goes to a non NFC east team ill root for them too as long as it doesnt affect the cowboys.

Our first year in NC we bought a couple of pumpkins from Tommy Burleson (who owns a farm in Cary) who is 7'4". I told him I hated his guts. He looked down at me with a puzzled look until I told him I was a UCLA fan, then he just grinned and said, "Now I understand". He was part of the 1974 NC State team that broke UCLA's winning streak in basketball. :bang2:

I met Joe Jacoby at a Promise Keeper's conference in DC one year. I told him the same thing and then told him I was a Cowboys fan. Same deal, he just smiled and shook my hand. Another BIG guy.
