Why all the love for the Skins?

I watched both Foreskin games and I'm not impressed at all. Their D is so OVERRATED and their O can't score. In the Miami game I watched the Fins drop so many passes. Smuut and Rogers are terrible, they can't cover at all. Fins took them to OT on their own field. Watching the Philly game, I saw two bad teams. McFlabb missed so many WIDE OPEN recievers and Reid stop running BW, why I don't know cause he was guttin them in the 1st half. JC did make some nice throws but he misses alot of throws too and now he has Fabini and Wade blocking for him. I'm just not impressed with them at all.. I wouldn't be suprised if the Giants beat them sunday. Foreskins O is bad and they CAN'T SCORE POINTS...

well it also helped mcnabb isn't a 100% and was missing wide open recievers left and right

Yeah, McNabb was the biggest reason for the Iggles' offensive ineptitude, not the "stifling" Skins defense... as you noted, he missed open receivers quite badly on a number of occasions in that game...

Campbell is the ultimate "bus driver".

Campbell is the 29th ranked quarterback in the league going into this week... he is a liability...

One thing to keep an eye on, also, is the banged up o-line. If Campbell starts to get rattled, chances are, he's going to fold like a cheap suit.

He's already thrown 3 ints, something he did not do last year... the offensive line situation should also cause the running game to suffer (indeed, it already has, the Skins' running backs are actually averaging under 4 yards per carry this season)... the Skins cannot stand to lose another player on that offensive line...

The love for the Skins stems from Joe Gibbs nostalgia, he has tarnished his otherwise sterling reputation gained in the 1980s and the media and league are trying to put forth a level of damage control in respect to the elder statesman.

Plus with the decline of the Eagles someone in the division has to be hyped up to confront the Cowboys.

That's pretty much the way I see it too, Mansta... their defense is improved this year, but it still has problems (they can be beat by the short pass, and they're still not forcing turnovers)... but I see no improvement whatsoever in their offense, indeed I see a regression... it is that sputtering offense that convinces me they won't get to .500 this year... that, and the injury situation, particularly on the offensive line...

Their defense looks really, really good. Their defense has shut down the first two teams they've faced, but both of these teams are seriously offensively challenged. Dallas' defensive effort against Miami was comparable to Washington's, but everyone is concerned about how bad our defense is and how good Washington's defense is. If our first game was against Philly instead of the Giants, we might be talking about how we have one of the best defenses in the league.

Campbell may develop into a very good qb (I've read where some cowboyszone posters say they saw things from him that show he has a good chance to be very good), but he is horrible now. The Redstinks have huge holes on the right side of their line. The will face a tough test this weekend against Strahan. They have three good offensive linement, two very good running backs, one very good TE, and one excellent WR. They currently have holes at quarterback (until Campbell develops), G, T, and at WR.

I think they get clobbered against the Gnats this weekend.

Personally, I was one of the few that thought the Skins would be playing under the radar this year-NEVER count out a Gibbs team when they're on their final lifeline.

And yeah-going into Philly and winning on national tv isn't exactly an easy task.

I didn't clarify, bear. What I meant was that a "bus driver" is the only type of QB that Campbell could be successful at. He isn't going to win them any games, he just has to try and not lose them. And, I agree with you; he's not there yet.

Sounds right to me, SS...

Generally that's true, but this Iggles team looks worse than any I've seen in quite a few years...

Winning is much easier in Philly when McNabb is too injured to get a football anywhere near any of his receivers.

We are getting alot of love because everyone said we'd do nothing this year, and we are overcoming adversity with the losses of Jansen and now Thomas.

Its going to take a few more weeks before we start being labelled as a contender, but I think we have the heart to do some damage this year. 10-6 or 11-5 isn't out of the question if we go at least 3-1 the next four games, which is a definate probability.

We put up 20 points on the Eagles at Philly and all of them were on offensive drives not turnovers...should have been 27 but Moss dropped a long bomb in the fourth quarter. We have the threat of the long ball now, which wasn't there since early 2005 before Brunell got hurt and went gimpy.

We are the only team that is top 5 in the NFL on 3rd down conversions on both offense and defense and I don't care what anybody says, that's a very promising sign considering that we were nearly last in that category last year.

This season might turn out just like 1996, 7-1 start, 2-6 finish including a season ender against a Cowboy team that sat the starters in preparation of the playoffs.

I'll give you 9-7 this season.

Eh, they are 2-0 and a big franchise in the league. It is to be expected. I am more puzzled by all the Campbell chatter. Dude has three INTs and ONE TD. Not time to annoint him as the next coming quite yet. He is certainly no Romo.

Perhaps that would happen under Norv, but there is the fact that Joe Gibbs coached teams have never started strong and finished weak :)

Wow-SD just doesn't look good AT ALL-am I the only one who thinks this, even after only 2 games?

Well they did handle the Bears week 1. But either they've taken a step backwards since last year on defense or the Patriots are really THAT good. I expect them to beat Green Bay, if they don't...definately the Norv curse is at work. Its hard to think of someone else who is such a good coordinator, but lousy as head coach and given so many opportunities to be a head coach. I was kind of pissed that he didn't wind up in Dallas as YOUR head coach, lol.
