Why are all these elite pass rushers getting traded?

The packers have the same SB odds as cowboys lol, and they have the great M.Parsons.
For some reason, the ravens are rated with better odds to win SB.
It could be because AFC teams are not that good recently.

They made huge mistake with that trade , and paying him way too much lol.
The only one who won that trade was parsons agent.
Cowboys won by not having to pay him 45 mil for his stupid 12 sacks a year.

I bet GB goes downhill now, not up.

Far more than two I mean Crosby got traded even though the trade got sent back and Cincinnati was trying to move Hendrickson end up on their team anyway as a free agent.. And yes you have Parson's and Garrett but you can go back to Mack, You want to go all the way back to the why in the world would a team like San Francisco trade Haley to us of all teams. For a second rounder?

It's been going on for some time some teams a lot of teams actually would rather use the draft capital and get a guy and hope they're close to the same level But the Rams went in reverse they had a guy that was on the come up and traded him away a younger player and a bunch of draft picks just to get Garrett and I know Garrett's great but it still don't make sense We just watched teams like Seattle New England do it by committee didn't have a single player with double digit sacks and yet they were both playing in the Super Bowl it shows it's unnecessary and some teams realize they 'd rather have the draft capital and save the money..

It's that simplified it's not a small sample size.. And we looked at guys like robert Quinn, Von Miller, and Huff There are others I mean I'm just sitting here thinking off the top of my head these names are popping up Teams traded or let go even though they can produce sacks..

I bet there are others it's not a small sample size it's becoming pretty normal It depends on the team.. Think back at it the Cowboys with Demarcus Ware they wanted him to stay but they wanted him to take a pay cut It's not like we are winning Super Bowls with them and they let him go and yes he got a Super Bowl over there with Von Miller but not at the same price... Actually I mean didn't Reggie White get traded I mean I know he played on multiple teams but how do you let a guy like that go it's like the same thing with Charles Haley II bet if we think back this has been going on a while it's just depends on the team and where they're at and if they decide they want to blow the cap up to keep a guy like that even though they don't all correlate directly to winning Super Bowls by being top heavy and have a single point of failure at one position when they can replace them with a younger guy..

Yes it's a risk..

Things change in a hurry though! They'll start feeling that future they mortgage this year.
 
-The modern spread offense has hurt outside pressure, where QB's get rid of the football much quicker.
-The addition of the mobile QB's throughout the league has made it difficult for edge rushers to get home
-Easier to take out 1 elite rusher, where we are seeing more teams be successful with team oriented defense.
-DT's have the shortest pathway to get to the QB, face in a QB's face is very challenging
 
I’d imagine the Packers regret trading for Parsons atp. They felt he was the final piece to their roster and they weren’t nearly as good as everyone expected. Giving up two firsts and Parsons taking up so much cap space will severely limit their ability to get better as well.

Rams trade for Garrett makes more sense because they’re allergic to draft picks and Stafford likely retires in the next two years.
 
nfl is a copycat league.....its a bunch of guys getting sacks & Pressure
Secondary that can defend the pass & limit yards after catch

Seattle just won the big one 7th in sacks, 2nd in QB Pressure
top 3 team leader in sacks---3 guys w/ 7
D.Law lead the team in pressures w/48

teams can win without a monster sack leader

will be interesting to see how they manage the cap
 
..there's the phase going on. Playoff teams will risk BANK, on a player to get a championship.

Saw it last year with, GB. NOw we see it with Rams.

Yup. You just can't pay one player that much. Even Qb. The QBs getting big money are watching their teams fall apart around them. Even Mahomes. In the early part of his contract, he was affordable. Then the huge cap hits started kicking in, and no playoffs.
 
Same could largely be said about high paid wide receivers.
 
Quinnen Williams, regarded as the best DT in the league by many on this board, was on the Jets and would never sniff a Super Bowl if he stayed there. It's not about the position. It's about the teams who are just overall bad at building a roster.

It's also about where you spend your money, but primarily it will always be about QB play and overall defense.

I don’t see a connection

Edge is a more premium position than DT and finding an elite pass rusher is hard to find

The Rams took on massive dead money hit on a rookie contract player and brought in one of the highest paid Edges in the game.

I don’t think they did that to save money.
