Why are people convince Romo will be rusty?

Not when you're out 8 weeks and your star receiver has hardly practiced since January

If Dez is healthy... and that's a big IF... 2 weeks of throwing is plenty of time... these guys are pro athletes.. after years of throwing and running the same routes, it eventually becomes muscle memory.

He is already throwing the ball, and he will be returning for 2 weeks before game day. Hes also ran this offense for years. I remember people saying Hardy would be rusty. 3 sacks in 2 games. Think he is doing pretty good.

He didn't play much in preseason and only played just over 6 quarters this season plus he hasn't started practicing yet. Casually throwing the ball around isn't going to get him game sharp. He will have to work off some rust. Comparing a QB with a DE is totally different DE's aren't throwing the ball.

I think it's pretty safe to assume the week of practice leading up to Miami will include full speed offense and defense. Also the type of throws he has been asked to make since the running game emerged last year have been relatively short and safe. I think he'll gave a pretty good game against Miami.

Not concerned about it myself. He had a full offseason and played in a couple of games. Last year, he wasn't able to do much of anything until the start of the season, and struggled against San Fran primarily because his back was still not well and the team had not learned to manage it.

The only real question is whether the injury will cause any lingering issues.

Although Romo and Dez have been together 6 seasons their timing with each other could be a little off because they haven't played together much this season. Dez didn't play at all in preseason and the only time he and Romo played together was in the season opener. Both are coming off injuries that still have them sidelined so it may take a couple of games to get their timing down. This isn't the same team they were playing with 5 weeks ago so a lot will be put on both of them to try and save this season if it can be saved by the time both are back on the field.

Full speed offense and defense is a lot different in practice than in games. It's going to take "games" to get them both back in the flow. As for Miami they're looked pretty impressive the past 2 games hope they've come back to earth some by the time we play them. They put 41 on the Texans in the first half yesterday. Tannehill is developing into a pretty solid QB that's going to be battle even with Romo.

There's absolutely zero chance he won't be rusty. Anyone would. Missing 8 weeks will have an efffect. How much is open for debate, but it's foolish to think he'll pick right up where he left off. And no, there's no chance we go undefeated when he gets back. We have a tough schedule.

I will enthusiastically greet Romo's return, rust and all. He's a coach-on-the-field and more importantly - a man comfortable in his ability to lead his team to victory.

Enjoy Romo while we still have him.
