With the playoffs starting and all of the optimism surrounding the team. It made me reflect on just how long I've been a fan and curious as to why other people love and follow this team. It was kind of natural for me being born and raised in Dallas. I remember going to Texas Stadium on a elementary school trip and meeting Tom Landry and Roger Staubach. We met other players, but even as a child I could sense that there was something genuine and great about those two men. I've lived and cried with them every since.

Why do you follow the Cowboys?

I was born that way.....

A LONG time ago, all that I wanted for christmas was a Dallas Cowboys belt buckle....it was so long ago that I don't even rememeber it except for my parents telling me that.

Never lived in Dallas much less Texas (Air Force Brat gorwing up)....but there IS NO TEAM other than Dallas.

I was 6 when they were getting beat by the steelers in the superbowl. 1978 I think it was. I saw how sad they looked on the sideline, and I felt sorry for them. So I started to like them right then and there.

Then I started playing cowboys and indians alot when I was a small child, and I always wanted to be a "cowboy" instead of an indian.

I haven't missed a game since 1980. Preseson, regular season, or playoffs.

Loved Butch Johnson. I used to do the California Quake whenever I scored TD's in grade school on the blacktop... this is a pic they took for the yearbook back then...

I was born and raised in Denton, TX (about 25 miles north of Dallas). I remember as a kid when the Cowboys first came into existence. Some gas stations in town were giving out Cowboys stickers. I got one of them and decided that I liked that team. Been a true blue follower ever since.

Growing up in a small town in SD, I either got to watch the Vikings or the Cowboys every week. I made my decision back then and haven't look back.

Born into it.

My dad is a Cowboys' fan and has been one since he was a kid (he was born in 61). Of course that meant I grew up in a household where the Cowboys were the team of choice and naturally boys try to imitate their fathers, so I'm guessing I picked up the team that way. I can't remember when I didn't like the Cowboys. I identify football with the Dallas Cowboys.

Unrelated, but it's the same way for me with the Atlanta Braves. My maternal grandfather was a huge fan and I always spent weekends with my maternal grandparents. So like the Cowboys, I was exposed to the team early and often. There was never really a chance for me to pick up another team because they were what I knew the sport as.

I was about 5 years old when I began to be a rabid fan...mainly because I loved the color Blue and this guy named Roger the Dodger was pretty darn good.

Later in my High School years I was sitting on my parents couch and watched in horror "The Catch"...after which I jumped up and down on my parents couch (on Feet) yelling and went all the way through to the floor...broke right through the wood. Always have and will root for the Boys.

Now I have two Boys that I have trained well...Cowboys stuff everywhere.

When the Doc gave me that first crack to the backside as a new born baby, it never occured to me to be anything else.

Crack went the smack and out came, "How Bout Them Cowboys!"

Man that is a cool story. Man I wish I was you. I got to see Landry and Staubach live once, It was the very 1st game at giant stadium, 10/10/1976.

I became a Cowboy fan on 1/16/1972. First game I ever watched Super Bowl VI. I was rooting for the Cowboys and bet my Dad and Uncle .75 cents each and won. I make sure I go to at least 1 home game a year, I have every year since 2000.

Growing up in N.Y., the Cowboys were like a second home team, they were on every weekend. I have been a fan ever since and I will be until I die.

Because I love good football. As a kid when I first started getting interested in the game, I'd get the laughable field goal tournaments between the St. Louis Cardinals and the NY Giants. I was bored to tears with that crap.

I caught the Cowboys and the Steelers in the Super Bowl and that was football. Regardless of the fact that they lost, watching that game I loved the Cowboys. Hasn't waned since.
