Seed faith. One can not buy a miracle. Not even Jerry Jones can do that.

To get to a harvest level, seeds have to be planted. Here, Jerry invests heavily to bring success to his Dallas Cowboys. There was once doubts as to his place in the franchise.

He did his homework first, talking with San Francisco and then Oakland at their ownership/management levels of knowledge.

He made a starting financial base in the oil exploration - wildcatting industry. Additionally, he secured enough financial backing to make his ownership and directions even possible. At purchase time, Dallas Cowboys were losing a $1M a week. He started planting seeds so that his franchise could have a season where rewards were harvested.

From that point forward, Jerry planted so that seeds for the team could slowly build to a harvest. That included Jimmy Johnson as well. Jerry moved mountains in trying to ensure Jimmy had all essential building materials and took a lot of gambling chances to get to that desired harvest - a Lombardi. All knew direction as did fans then.

What Jerry and Jimmy, both, were shy in their knowledge was that corrections in a role and relationship express character.

What Jimmy didn't realize was that obedience determines trust.

What Jerry under rated was that pursuit determines passion. Both he and for Jimmy.

Jerry realized early on that routine also proves passion. Here, Jimmy lost perspective of that point and was blinded by his own achievement. He felt the whole picture rested on his own self worth. Not planting enough seeds for the total good of his team to reap from.

Delayed obedience to his boss is disobedience!

That comes to the foundations of loyalty and a team concept set in planting future seeds as well. Jimmy cracked foundations and undermined his own players here as well.

What he kept was his own reward. If trying to listen up above for guidance...instruction followed determined the direction of his future that he, himself, created.

Jerry has gone from the 'prison' of all gambling and challenged by dogs outside the door, to being in a palace.

This is the second time that his base is again at the level that it was in and around 1989.

Hey, we are here again...but that takes planting seeds as fans as well. The fans knew what it took for Murchison and Tom Landry from their beginnings. We followed along when Jones and Jimmy Johnson arrived. We've been there on the planting seeds level, but we always stood up and planted seeds along with the team.

To have a reaping season, it is again support that needs to be added by us in planting seeds. That was part of the team achievement in the past, twice, and is part of the coming together of the Dallas Cowboys now.

GO COWBOYS!

I’ve been a fan since the 60s. It doesn’t matter what year to me. Go cowboys. I’m 20 minutes from Gillette Stadium. You think I’d be a patriots fan. But in the military Roger Staubach. How could I not love the star and what it represents. The camaraderie, the tradition it’s all still there in my opinion. Championships they take an entire franchise. It’s a shame some people think it’s on just one player or two.

Don't need to justify or rationalize being a fan, I just am. Been through tough times with this team and I do not think back-to-back 12 win seasons qualifies as tough times.

These how or why to be a fan for a team that's made the last two playoffs but stumbled in the early rounds show why there are too many entitled Cowboys fans.

Always been a fan and always will be.

As to why this year as well. As I take the OP's thread title, as to why we need to be positive about this year, as opposed to past history. Because we can't change the past so why waste brain cells complaining.

So this year things are looking up. They retained their talent, plus added talent. Kept the defense in tact with DQ for a 3rd year now.
MM taking over the offense, with what should be positive changes. But yet keeping much the same, especially the terminology. Dak had an anomaly in his amount of INT's. So those should be less.

2 years at 12-5, 2 years making the playoffs. Signs are point up.

Only if Jerry would get rid of Rowdy .... the real jinx ...

Despite the immense negativity on this site its a choice. I choose to continue to follow this team through a crappy Gm through average QBs through the whole crap show. silver and blue runs through my veigns. I just dont get worked up if they fail. Its not that serious

Why I am a Dallas Cowboys fan.

Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother all born in Dallas County. Me - born in Arlington. Family goes back to at least 1859 in DFW (the date of death on the tombstone of an ancestor in Stony Graveyard in Denton County). It's my hometown team. No other justification needed. If the Cowboys had never won a Super Bowl, and were like the Chicago Cubs for a century, I'd still support the team. The Cowboys are like family - you suffer with them when times are bad, and rejoice with them when times are good.

Nuff said!

I just wish they would’ve done more for this team to get them over the hump.

Gilmore and Cooks were great additions. At least it’s not just relying on rookies as our upgrades.

Isn’t that just a long winded scenic route way I’m just saying that the Cowboys with Mike McCarthy on the back to back 12 wins seasons with playoff berths are on the verge of possibly doing something special ...

so we should pay attention ?

Sunk Cost Fallacy?

I'm harsh, I'm critical, I demand excellence and will hold the team accountable in commentary, but they are my team and I'm not the type to change alliances once I'm in.

My opinion concerns an individual's fanship of any sport and not just football.

In my opinion, a person may not actually be a fan of a team (or an athlete) if they must question their fanship. Their following should be something they know. Their fanship may not exist if they must question whether it is within them.
