It’s a good year to be a fan of the team. They’re coming off back to back playoffs seasons for the first time since 06 and 07 and they won a playoff game against Tom Brady who they’ve never beaten. The team is building on something, we’ll see if it continues this season or they take a step back leading to a miserable offseason.

I'll always be a fan, year in and year out. It's just baked into me. Of course I have those frustrated moments where I curse this team off forever, but I come right back. I just can't quit them. Hopefully one day my unconditional love and patience will pay off.

I am fan no matter how bad or how good they are. I will root for the Cowboys. I guess that is the way I am

I’m a Cowboys fan, year in - year out since around 1972. I don’t have a second favorite team.

But this year is one of the first times that I remember where there are no assistants being forced upon the HC (in reality or by my own perception).

I was serving in Europe during the Parcells years, so my memory is somewhat vague about who his assistants were.

So the fact that MM has what I perceive to be total control of football ops, I’m thrilled for the first time in a long time.

That being said, last off season I was completely the opposite, especially after the first game. So, what do I know.

Huh?

I feel like I need some meditation to understand this post.

Ohmmm. Ohmmm.
Start looking for Maharishi Mahesh Yogi...alright.

Stick to talking football, but look for an optomotrist on the going blind.

Must have come across two or three words that have no meaning to yourself. The words were all simple and to a point.

There aren't many YOU words. Those are usually used when a person is trying to instead insult...sorry, but I discuss reasons.

Simple foundations of a Christian foundation...forgiving. Not much 'bragging' in that view....

My opinion concerns an individual's fanship of any sport and not just football.

In my opinion, a person may not actually be a fan of a team (or an athlete) if they must question their fanship. Their following should be something they know. Their fanship may not exist if they must question whether it is within them.

Die hard Cowboys fan forever. I just won't spend a penny on them until they win another Super Bowl.

Seed faith. One can not buy a miracle. Not even Jerry Jones can do that.

To get to a harvest level, seeds have to be planted. Here, Jerry invests heavily to bring success to his Dallas Cowboys. There was once doubts as to his place in the franchise.

He did his homework first, talking with San Francisco and then Oakland at their ownership/management levels of knowledge.

He made a starting financial base in the oil exploration - wildcatting industry. Additionally, he secured enough financial backing to make his ownership and directions even possible. At purchase time, Dallas Cowboys were losing a $1M a week. He started planting seeds so that his franchise could have a season where rewards were harvested.

From that point forward, Jerry planted so that seeds for the team could slowly build to a harvest. That included Jimmy Johnson as well. Jerry moved mountains in trying to ensure Jimmy had all essential building materials and took a lot of gambling chances to get to that desired harvest - a Lombardi. All knew direction as did fans then.

What Jerry and Jimmy, both, were shy in their knowledge was that corrections in a role and relationship express character.

What Jimmy didn't realize was that obedience determines trust.

What Jerry under rated was that pursuit determines passion. Both he and for Jimmy.

Jerry realized early on that routine also proves passion. Here, Jimmy lost perspective of that point and was blinded by his own achievement. He felt the whole picture rested on his own self worth. Not planting enough seeds for the total good of his team to reap from.

Delayed obedience to his boss is disobedience!

That comes to the foundations of loyalty and a team concept set in planting future seeds as well. Jimmy cracked foundations and undermined his own players here as well.

What he kept was his own reward. If trying to listen up above for guidance...instruction followed determined the direction of his future that he, himself, created.

Jerry has gone from the 'prison' of all gambling and challenged by dogs outside the door, to being in a palace.

This is the second time that his base is again at the level that it was in and around 1989.

Hey, we are here again...but that takes planting seeds as fans as well. The fans knew what it took for Murchison and Tom Landry from their beginnings. We followed along when Jones and Jimmy Johnson arrived. We've been there on the planting seeds level, but we always stood up and planted seeds along with the team.

To have a reaping season, it is again support that needs to be added by us in planting seeds. That was part of the team achievement in the past, twice, and is part of the coming together of the Dallas Cowboys now.

GO COWBOYS!

Ever hear of trust is earned????? This makes me laugh....

What Jimmy didn't realize was that obedience determines trust.... As if Jimmy was a dog. Obedience?????? Give me a break

"The results aren't there right now, but what's going on here is there's growth under the soil, "Everybody wants to see results. Nobody wants to see results more than us. We want to see results too but it's really important that the foundation is being built and that the roots are growing out."

"The only way the roots grow out every single day, and they grow stronger and they grow better, is if we all water, we all fertilize, we all do our part....each individual coach, each individual player, each everybody in the building that we do our part to water to make sure when it (flower) does pops out it really pops out and it grows,"

It just takes 27 years (and counting) to see those sprouts break through the soil.

"Why be a fan of this year's Cowboys?"

Because I'm no bandwagoner or a fair weathered fan! I support my favorite team, and our players, through thick and thin. It's that simple!

GO COWBOYS!! :starspin:

I have to say this this years off-season is way different than last years so that in and of itself is a reason for real hope……last season I already knew how it would finish because of the teams inactivity and late responses to issues

the only thing that surprised me last season was Hurts and the Eagles getting so much better…..they took an exponential leap rather than a normal one.

Christ, get a life...loyalty belongs with a team and if you don't obey the rules for employment one is not an inch away from just a fool!

If I wanted always to hear nagging insults as to never ending pessimism...I'll find my wife and get into a conversation.

Go slobber on someone else... As I see, you are no fan or critic.

Here's the song that you sing: 'Oh lord it's hard to be humble, when you're perfect in every way'...now sing on along, somewhere else.
