Why Dak still sucks

He only played in four and played better than Dak in worse circumstances.. and I just told you, based on QBR he was better than Dak..

More yards per game, better completion percentage in a worse situation...
Show me.

Never mind. His QBR in for us in 2014 was 7.2!! In 2015 it was 59.1. HIs best game for us in 2015 was likely the game Romo broke his collar bone in against Philly. He was 7-7 and had a QBR of 80.3. Against NO that year he had a QBR of 69.6. He averaged 184.5 yards per game in the 4 games he played for us before we got rid of him.

I am not crazy about Dak. Ok, so let's get that out first. I also knew your thread was coming today. The lack of 2nd half passing yards were due to other things OTHER than Dak. 1. We got turnovers that gave us a short field, 2. Ball control. Dak is never going to be that QB that throws for 350 yards and 4 TD passes. He's just not. That doesn't mean he sucks. He just needs to be managed. This falls on our coaching more than anything else.

How does those situations justify throwing TEN times in a single quarter in the third? If anything; they should have run more in a short field. So what this means is the argument that they were not trying to get passing yards for Dak to break 200 is a joke...

Google is your friend.

Against the Saints he had a 106 QBR rating and threw for 246 yards, and a TD with a Lance Dunbar as his RB.. show me where Dak put up anywhere near those numbers without Zeke regularly.

Congratulations, you are comparing Dak Prescott with three years starting in this offense to Weeden..

They are a 9-7 team with this OL and defense and Dak playing his ‘best ball’ which was yesterday against an arrogant defense like you said... he’s holding the team back..
He is part of the problem. But I believe the bigger problem is that he is not being coached properly given his skill set.

Lol, what? This tweet is referring specifically to the game yesterday.

He also referenced week 3, 4 and 5, because he’s trying to create the impression Dak’s struggles were because of play-calling.

And Dak actually choosing to run is not the same thing as having the option to run. So saying the Cowboys called a different game-plan in the second half is absurd.

A lot of what we have seen in 2017 and 2018 is that if you take Beasley away from Dak he struggles. Remarkebly the Jaqs did not try to take Beasley away in the first half. Romo pointed specifically to that and Beasley went off. Even on the 2nd half TD to Beasley, he had 2 covering - Beasley just made a great cut to get open.

In the third quarter ALONE, Dak THREW it nine times and the tenth was when he broke pocket after spinning into the DT to the right, but escaped for that gain. Dak homers, as justification for the fact he couldn’t break 200 yards passing, are pinning this like the Cowboys just decided to stop passed. Dak tried PASSING around 70% of the time in third quarter and his most successful play was when he broke pocket on a three man rush, almost spinning himself into a sack.

He made one awful throw that should on the almost INT by Ramsey and the other, series when Heath put them at the Jaguars 8, he threw it twice and cane away with a field goal. The problem with the Ramsey throw was that it was right after Kaguars matched up the field and scored a TD, meaning it could have easily shifted the momentum and put it at 24-14 if they had any competent offense. The next field goal was the off worst throw in NFL history by Bortles to Heath.

Then came the fumble by the Jags and Dallas decided they had enough and ran it with Zeke pretty much every time.

The Jaguars basically adjusted after their incompetent first half and Dak was Dak. The defense also got its TOs against this garbage Jags offense that turned it over five times last week and allowed the Cowboys to pull ahead while Dak floundered passing.

The point being Dak couldn’t even break 200 yards passing when he was still TRYING.
Really won't matter what Dak does even if he takes the Cowboys to a Super Bowl and wins it, the guys that don't want him will find fault. We are just fans and whether we like him or not, the Cowboys do and it is all that matters. Will Dak be our QB five years from now? Who knows although it appears he will be so just hope we can win and keep winning.

Beastly put on a clinic yesterday... I was waiting for Ramsey to cover him

Something drastic is going to need to take place for us to get highlights like that week in and week out for years to come.

Right now, we get a game like that about 5 times a year and that simply isn't good enough.

One other thing: being up 24-0 at halftime made the offense and Dak more cautious, afraid of making a game-altering mistake.

He threw the ball to Ramsey and almost got picked off. They went pass ten times in the THiRD quarter. They were anything but cautious and they finally stopped after the fumble and they just gave Zeke the ball.

In fact, Jags made it 24-7 and they were trying to put their foot on the necks of the Jags, but Bortles is trash and our defense is pretty good.

Wrong, his QBR was 69.6. His rating was 106.

I don't know. You'll have to ask the coaches about that. The Jags adjusted and they do have a pretty good D. Again, before the game, did you expect him to throw for much? I didn't. Dak doesn't suck, he just needs to be managed.
