Jerry has put together teams that could've won titles. Is it his fault players didn't get it done? 2007, 2012, 2014, 2016, 2021 all had legit chances.

This yr people were crying all offseason look what this team had done. You're watching something good and all can do is whine. But to each his own. I'll just put you on ignore bye
You make valid points for sure and I agree 100% with your premise - I think what frustrates the fan base is Jerry coming out and saying
Oh yes we are doing something - we are all in
Then hedging his bets all for relevance
Yes Jerry has built great teams - players didn’t execute
But sometimes just keep his mouth shut
Silence is better then surprise Dallas made a move
Rather than how he always does it
He is PT Barnum - he is an incredible business man and salesman - he is an incredible marketing rep who sells this team to the fanbase and makes millions

As a fan for over 50 years I wish he would just not be Jerry - I do honestly believe if a trade wasn’t right he didn’t pull trigger but again silence would’ve been better
Under promise - over deliver
Now we know he will be out in hours or days claiming that they had several options but none were just right for now or teams future
The BS man at his best

Jesus so much whine...6-2 downright scary defense, offense coming off destroying the 6th Def in the nfl. And all you people do is cry. Go look for another team if it's so bad rooting for this team. Or if Jerry is "ruining" it for you.
Only person who “whined” in this thread was you

Jerry would trade big but it takes 2 sides to get it done. Nobody knows what's going on behind closed doors. I'm glad he didn't pay the price for a wr. Claypool for a 2nd hell no.

I'd rather have obj on a 1 yr deal if that can get done. I'd also rather keep it going with what they got now.

People talk about the rush Def are there teams that can run like the bears? Or got a qb like fields? The ravens, but again not many. People are all on the eagles jocks. Philly looked nothing like they do now against this defense. If dak plays that game Dallas wins plain and simple.

I like what this team looks like this yr. Seems they got less ego and accountability.

I agree
I would have never wanted to see a stupid trade (ie- Roy Williams even Joey G )
But Jerry can’t just shoosh
LOL

Because he was asked by someone in the media, right? He was responding to questions about the trade deadline wasn’t he?

I mean, I don’t want to hear him talking either… but you can’t blame him for answering questions. He even said the most likely thing was for nothing to happen.

Why did Jerry even say anything?

Because he is addicted to three things 1) money 2) Jerry 3) publicity

I genuinely hope you didn’t actually get worked up by what he said. If so, you’ve probably been a fan since yesterday.

Jerry’s been talking for decades and the reasons are obvious. I personally will never get people that don’t understand or accept this. If you’re a Cowboys fan you’ve got to live with the fact that your owner is the most talkative and public facing in sports.

To complain about that would be equivalent to complaining about taxes. It ain’t gonna stop so just get used to it.

That reads like you think he cares.

He doesn't.

On this site.. I read all kinds of hateful, sarcastic, and exaggerated exertions about Jerry Jones. That’s fine, it’s all conjectured opinions anyway. I get he’s polarizing, overly optimistic, and has made down right dumb decisions throughout his tenure. He definitely can be an easy game of “pin the donkey”.

I can listen to the complaints that he should hire a “real GM” (even though Will McClay essentially is that guy); I can deal with the mockery of some of the one liners he spouts; I can ignore the debates of FO decisions from couch potato GMs that most certainly know better…But..

To say Jerry doesn’t care is obviously ridiculous. I’m sure I won’t change your mind, but if anything.. He cares too much.. cares to a fault.

An owner that wants to be so involved in the team, he takes the title of GM when most owners just sit back and collect. Many players have maintained a personal relationship (I.e.- Dez, Witten, Irvin, ESmith, etc). When fans wanted a “real” coach in the 90’s, he took a back seat (which you know was hard for him) and hired Parcells.. then held on too long to Jason Garrett, possibly due to his revere for longtime Cowboys scout Jim Garrett. He overpays for Cowboys stars that tend to cripple our cap..he even shed a tear when he was forced by the entire coaching staff to release Terrell Owens.

As much as people make Jerry out to be all business.. his biggest fault is he doesn’t know how to keep his emotions about the Cowboys separate from team business decisions.

So to say the man doesn’t care.. imo.. is really a cheap shot and far from the truth.

edit: Side note: the one things I’ve learn in my almost half century lifetime.. is when you care a lot about something’s.. your chances of making some really dumb decisions increases significantly

Personally I would have rather had Roquan Smith over any wide receiver

But is just makes Jerry look like a fool when he does stuff like this
Just falls in line with decisions they’ve made over the last 27 years or so…

Why aren't other Owners asked these same questions?

Because they don't make themselves available to the media.

Because after Jerry refusing to do what's needed to help the team for 27 years, I sympathize with their frustration. I love the Cowboys. I loathe how Jerry runs the team. I was a Cowboys fan before he bought the team as were many here. We've all watched his ego make a joke of the franchise for years.

So if people want to complain, let them. They still want the team to win. They're still rooting for them to win. They just see that Jerry is full of it. It's the people who defend Jerry and are fans of his that are the real problem because that endorsement eggs on the behavior that has screwed the team for years. One could almost argue that those people aren't Cowboys fans. They're Jerry Jones fans.

Yes, the Cowboys are looking good right now. We've seen that a few times during the past 27 years. What have they done in the playoffs after that? Collapse. Why? The culture Jerry engenders and a lack of depth. If he spent half as much time actually GMing as he does promoting, maybe the Cowboys wouldn't be perennial losers in the playoffs.
Very well said.

Jerry said it is possible that we might made a trade but most likely not.

And then he didn’t make a trade!

OMG… Why did he say that? Waaaahhhhh!!!

How can you ignore it when you guys turn every thread into complain about everything about this team
We are 6-2 and playing like a really good football team right now.

Our defense is more exciting to watch play than it has been in 30 years.

If all people can do now is whine and complain about Jerry they are never going to be happy.

Mission accomplished...Jerry Jones had his fans and other NFL fans paying attention to his team among others. ABS...always be selling!

Masterful by Jerry Jones. As always.
