Why did Micah only get credited with 1.5 sacks yesterday when the film and clearly shows 3 sacks

This is why the stats don't matter on Micah. I hope all this talk about dumping him goes away. That kid is an absolute beast. Did you see the play where they double covered him and he turned around the lineman so badly that he ended up running back towards his QB?

Fans have been complaining about him all year. He is a generational player. We need to continue to build the defense around him. With him and Overshown, this defense could be scary.
all good and i agree. But he needs to shut his mouth.

We live in a stat-obsessed culture. Anybody who watched the game knows how disruptive Parsons was, no matter what the final numbers show.
When we start getting MP mixed up with O is when we know this defense has something going on.
This defense can keep improving weekly.

Is this what we call the TJ Watt Bias? Anytime TJ Watt even breathes on a QB he gets credited with a sack. I saw Micah sack Drew Lock three times solo yesterday, then today he only gets 1.5 sacks credited. BS.
Who cares? What difference does it make…except to his agent? Micah is already going to cost the team a fortune. Wait…are you his agent?

He’s got to claim them with the league office that’s how recorded sacks work, maybe he was nice and gave one to his teammate

Because he really only had 1.5 sacks. The first one was all Wilson. The third one was a group hug with Mazi.

Lol generational player... Generational mouth.
I think fans like you throw around generational too much. He's good but he's 1 dimensional, can't finish a season strong, and is terrible for the locker room because he won't shut the bleep up. We need to trade him for draft picks and in 3 years I'll come back and bump this when he's half $$$ing it somewhere while he banks on podcasts.

Why? What does he say that is bad? He's a kid, enjoying life, no fines, suspensions, arrests...good for him.
here is one. Were you good with him running his mouth about his head coach recently?

Generational player? not yet. HE has to be reliable and consistent to be such.
and if you want a reason why fans are down on him besides the fact that so far he has not been either is his big mouth; which writes checks so far he has not been able to cash
Yup.

I will continue to say it. He has generational ability, but that ability probably isn’t sustainable over the years (as it often isn’t over the course of single seasons).

I really think a 2nd contract (which would be massive) would look bad by just 2026

Yes. Micah is Schrodingers pass rusher.

An overrated loud mouth who isn’t that great.

And also somebody that other teams should trade us multiple first round picks for.
No team is trading a first for any player, let alone multiple firsts. Micah might garner a couple of third round picks from a team with ample cap space. He’s signing with the Cowboys for more than he’s worth. That is Cowboys fans’ reality.

top pass rushers have been traded for firsts before. Not likely but not impossible

It’s happened in the past. It will not happen any longer. And a player that needs to be paid now has less trade value than a player with a couple of years left on his rookie deal. No one will trade the cost control certainty draft picks provide. It’s the least expensive way to acquire talent. That cost control is what allows teams to sign their top players.

The Cowboys won’t trade their first or seconds. No other teams will either. Micah Parsons will play five more games and then, barring a miracle making the playoffs, will not put pads on without a lucrative contract with substantial guarantees. My guess is Parsons’ agent has already informed the Cowboys the compensation Micah is expecting.

Until he disappears in any big game. Zero sum against the run. Though he is a generational talent at creating new baby mamas.

So, you're saying that MP is not that great?

This is why I actually dont love the sack stat. I would much rather them just count how many sacks a player was in on instead of splitting credit. If two players on in on a sack give both player A and B a full sack, but then towards the team stats continue to keep it at 1.

I mean really if player A has 10 sacks on the year, but another player got in on a piece of the cleanup for those sacks so they only get credit for 5 does that mean that player A shouldnt be considered a quality pass rusher?
Absolutely. It seems like the NFL is penalizing both defenders for a simultaneous hit resulting in a sack. It's not as is they were both dependent on each other to accomplish the sack. Otherwise, first defender to contact the QB gets the sack.
