We all knew this was going to be a tough game, but what stood out to me the most that was evident in the previous 2 wins, was the lack of physicality on both sides of the ball. In wins vs Philly and KC, the o-line dominated, the d-line pressured the QB and controlled the line of scrimmage, stopping the run. Last night they became the soft team that has been a staple of this team this year. Detroit especially on defense had been struggling like crazy, zero pressures, 4 sacks in last 4 games total, last night they had 5 sacks alone and numerous pressures on Dak. The last several games, Goff was a sitting duck back there, between the pressures and sacks, he had no time to throw, defenses literally were in his face all night, last night he had all the time in the world, and when you give a QB like Goff that much time, he is going to destroy you. All of this in basically a playoff game that now with this loss pretty much ended their season. Was it fatigue? maybe? But we all knew they put themselves in this position with horrible losses to Arizona and Carolina, and now they had no room for error, and unfortunately last night there was way too much error. This isn't even talking about the half-*** effort from Pickens last night, and atrocious special teams

Yep, games are won or lost in the trenches.
Good call.

I disagree we just lost to a much better team

The cowboys had an influx of talent that hit the roster in a very short period of time, especially on defense. That’s a good thing but this team still has its warts. The advantage they had was adding two high level players like Q and Overshown completely changed the front half of the defense schematically as well as our defensive tendencies. The issue is there has now been a few weeks of film for the rest of the league to catch up to what we were doing. We saw last night how Detroit got the isolated matchups they wanted pretty regularly and exploited us defensively.

The cowboys are moving in the right direction however this is exactly why small sample sizes of success need to be met with deeper analysis.

A situation is rarely as good as it seems and it’s never as bad as it seems….the truth tends to be somewhere in the middle.

We got out coached big time! We looked like a Jason Garrett coached team vs a contender.

The Cowboys were dead in October and now look like a totally different team. The Lions are a better team and wanted the game more. The Lions are also better than both Philly and KC.

At least the Cowboys dramatically closed the gap with Detroit from last time they played.

It's almost like the players, the team...takes the cheese. We fans were very excited, right? heeping praise upon praise.

So...the players buy into it...oblivious to the actual mounting pressure. Then it hits and we look dumbfounded.

The trap snaps when the cheese is taken.

For me it was cuz the Cowboys beat 2 good teams in a short amount of time after having always not played well against the better teams in the recent past.

I guess beating 3 good teams and 4 in a row was way too much to ask of this team and really showed how much better the Lions players and coaches are than ours.
That's what kinda pisses me off the most.

Like that crazy saying they are just not a good matchup for us personnel wise because of our obvious weaknesses.

And they did exactly what they wanted to us for the second year in a row.
Not only beat us but embarrassed us.
Freakin pisses me off.

And yeah, back to "Same Ole Cowboys" yet again.

GroundHog Day year 30 going strong.

Yep. I had hoped Schotty would be different, but I just see another guy Jerry hired that nobody else would of. 3? 5? 10? more years of mediocrity.

It would have been different if we started the season with our current roster. We would have made the playoffs. However, the playoff results would have been the same.
