Its easy revisionism to say we should have drafted Metcalf. At the time he was considered a major bust risk and hardly anyone here wanted him. He has a much better player than he was a draft prospect

Would have been great, but like they say, hindsight is always 20/20.
I remember watching that draft as I watch all drafts, and just the name "Metcalf" was intriguing.

Right. Terrible use of resources…we get upset when they draft a running back too early….I don’t see that going over well taking a receiver early with those resources.

He was definitely a possibility with their 2nd round pick if he was there. Trading for Cooper would have had nothing to do with that. Its just not how they operate. Just like it didnt matter when we took Lamb the following year after we extended Cooper
