Why didn’t we sign Peters right after Tyron injury?

This FO commits roster management malpractice on the daily. Tyron gets injured on August 25. Why wasn’t Peters in the next day and signed so he could get enough practice time in to possibly start at LT? Instead FO sat on their hands and won’t be able to “officially” sign him until Monday (or even Tuesday because of holiday). Less than a week before first game. So Peters will be nothing more than a swing tackle I bet. And you force a rookie who hasn’t practiced any LT in training camp to start. SMH

And what finally made them change their mind? Just a week ago they were saying they werent going to sign anyone? Were they lying? Did they finally figure out they needed someone?

That rookie being forced to play LT was our #1 draft pick and has played LT his whole life. Your perspective seems intentionally skewed to fit your self-serving narrative.

Zero live reps at LT in the NFL. Zero. Yet he’s your opening day LT on a team that’s supposed to compete for the playoffs and beyond? Pathetic, just pathetic. If Jerry or Stephen worked for any employer - and didn’t own the damn team - they’d have been fired two decades ago.

Because Jerry

No, Stephen. Jerry in control probably would have given up high draft picks for some mid-tier offensive lineman. Stephen is like the complete opposite of Jerry - scared to give up picks, scared to give out big contracts, scared to sign big name FAs, etc.

You mean why didn't Jerry sign Peters before Tyron got hurt?

That would have been proactive and smart. And easy, with all of the extra cap space. But not even holding Jerrah and Cap Boy to that standard. Just wanted them to activate the backup plan before the Tuesday after Labor Day.

So, according to you, rookies can never start? That's all this is. Your close-mindedness is what's pathetic. Micah Parsons wouldn't have been given a chance last year with that mindset. You are losing the debate with that argument. :lmao:

Did Micah practice at LB all training camp? Rest my case. Tyler hasn’t taken one rep at LT all training camp. Yet we’re going to throw him out there against the 2020 Super Bowl champs on national TV at one of the hardest positions to play in all of football.

A detail without a difference. Training camp last year did not make Micah Parsons the great player he is and training camp this year won't make Tyler Smith the great LT he already is either. Go away chicken little, you are boring me!

This is the only explanation I can reasonably accept. But they even drug their feet after that. And not being able to close the deal before a 3 day holiday weekend is simply inexcusable

Man stop crying, you're just trying to find something to b about. You don't know if Peters had made up his mind to play.

Uh, because it’s going to take 5 or 6 weeks to get him into playing shape and he’s 40 and the only way he actually sees the field will be out of pure desperation!
How many weeks did it take him to be ready for the bears?
Honest question as I don't know the answer, ad would think it would be comparable.
