Why do people act like Jason Garret is still the head coach?

The Cowboys have trouble with tough defenses, especially after they come off of a huge victory prior. See those two SF playoff games for reference

How Allen looked is how Dak looked against San Francisco

If last Sunday's team shows up, we should win, but we can't underestimate the Jets and we can't turn the ball over.

It will be interesting to see how the offense has evolved with Mike as the OC now. Tough D’s always shut down Kellen’s offense. That’s why he’s in LA now.

Problem is you're not just facing Zach Wilson....you're playing a New York Jets team that is really good. That team is stacked both on offense and defense. Very similar to the Cowboys last year with Cooper Rush. They have a defense that can shut down quality offenses, as well as a quality Oline and depth at both RB and receiver.

Dont think this is an easy W like we are playing Arizona or something.

There is a reason Wilson got benched multiple times last season. Their OL is below average. They have a good WR and a good running game. The key to this game is to control the ball, not turn it over, get the lead and make them one dimensional. If Wilson has to throw it 25+ times we should win this game relatively easily. If we allow Hall and Cook to run and they limit Wilson to around 20 passes, we could be in trouble.

I think we can control the LOS on both O and D and we will wear them down and pull away in the 2nd half. Just have to take care of the ball. They don't rotate their CB's so Sauce stays on one side of the field. Dak won't have a ton of success going at him. We need to move CD and Cooks around to get the favorable match up, utilize Pollard out in space and our TE's need to catch the ball on Sunday. Realistically, this is a game we should win. The team needs to go out and play their game and take care of business. 21 points should be enough to win this game.

I'd agree with most of that, maybe the biggest piece as you said is can the Jets run the ball or not. Hall/Cook is a really strong combo and can be the Jets offense is good enough even with Wilson to be frustrating if they can consistently get into 3rd and 2 type of situations.

I see a total dog fight in this one with two excellent defenses. I think it could easily end up a 20-17 type of game which is always scary with a rookie kicker. I'm picking the Cowboys for sure, but Cowboy fans and the media are treating the Cowboys/Jets game very similarly to the Cowboys/Bengals game a year ago when the boys had no chance with Cooper Rush.

You just know that nobody on that roster fully trusts Wilson with the ball in his hands and the game on the line. Dallas defense should be able to harass him into some poor decisions which will hopefully result in big turnovers. I think we stack the box and force him to beat us. Diggs and/or Gilmore could have big days.

It's not a perfect quote but it definitely applies ot the dynamic described in the OP.

“A long habit of not thinking a thing wrong, gives it a superficial appearance of being right, and raises at first a formidable outcry in defense of custom. But the tumult soon subsides. Time makes more converts than reason.” - T Paine

This team isn't the 8-8 cowboys of old. I don't see a scenario where Dan Quinn and Micah have a let down game against Zach Wilson. You guys need to let the Garret era go he can't hurt you anymore.
Some of us still suffer from PTSD from that era. So please have patience. It will take a few more games like these to heal us.

Cooper rush is much much better than Zach Wilson bro. A better comparison is Cooper Rush vs the Eagles last year and how that went.

I'm just saying that you're too focused on one player out of 22+. This is a really good Jets team that defeated a really good Buffalo team last night.

Backup QB, short week for the Jets, the Cowboys are as hot as you can be right now....It all points to a Cowboys W and I think that happens. I also thought this team should have manhandled the Texans last year, but the squeaked by instead. It's the NFL, only a couple teams each year can you really look at the schedule and just pencil in the W. The Jets are far from one of those teams even with a backup QB. What did they win last year with a dumpster fire qb room....8 games or something like that? This team is good and I can see them giving the Cowboys offense fits. I'd love to see another blowout, but as I said I just see a low scoring 20-17 type of game.

And given Daks performance last year it is reasonable to be concerned that he might turn the ball over 4 times as well. If that doesn't happen though the Jets are in trouble.
