Why do people act like Jason Garret is still the head coach?

Problem is you're not just facing Zach Wilson....you're playing a New York Jets team that is really good. That team is stacked both on offense and defense. Very similar to the Cowboys last year with Cooper Rush. They have a defense that can shut down quality offenses, as well as a quality Oline and depth at both RB and receiver.

Dont think this is an easy W like we are playing Arizona or something.
It’s not Wilson that worries me
It’s their run game that worries me and a really good defense. They are capable of beating us if we let them

This team isn't the 8-8 cowboys of old. I don't see a scenario where Dan Quinn and Micah have a let down game against Zach Wilson. You guys need to let the Garret era go he can't hurt you anymore.

Jerry is still here. The assumption is that the coaches since Jimmy, excluding Parcells, were just weak yes men who basically were not true coaches and that Big Mike would just follow suit and be another weak HC like Garretop was.

McCarthy made some bad calls, such as pre-DC before Quinn, but I think he is a vast improvement over Garrett and has more control then it may appear, and definitely more than Garretop had.

The stomach does churn when I see Garrett on TV as an analyst, briefly, a pang of true fear erupts as the brain sees him as still our HC, then reality sets in and a deep relaxation takes hold. The decade under Garrett always seem a wasted time for Cowboys fans.

Our disappointments haven't come only from the Garrett era. Under the McCarthy era, we got exposed by tough defenses/physical teams. We had high flying offenses, but the Broncos came and beat the Cowboys up and knocked them back down to Earth in regular season and then we lose to the 49ers back to back years in the playoffs because they simply out-physical us and beat us up.

We have huge problems putting together constant games, especially after winning a big game. The next game we come out looking lethargic and end up losing against a physical team. This next game will give us a signal of whether 'this team is different' because it's the kind of team we have problems with, which is tough defenses, especially coming off of a big win.

The Cowboys have a consistency problem and we're going to see if they made any inroads on fixing that.

This game will tell us a lot I think. This is a very good D. Very fast, very good DL, pass rush and secondary. We will see if the move from Moore to MM calling the plays and game planning is going to be a difference maker for us or not. If we can play well on O against this D, we can against anyone.

We dropped one last year to Sam Howell
That was literally the last game of the year in a completely meaningless scenario. This is not even close to the same.

Of course, you can lose to anyone on any given Sunday, but Mike's teams seem much more resilient that the Garret teams of old.

The Cowboys have been having let down games long before Jason Garrett was the coach, and after he was the coach. Anytime we face a backup QB there’s always a chance of a letdown, especially after the dominating win we had last week. The Cowboys have had a bad history in recent years against backup QBs. We’ve lost to a string of backup QB’s the past decade.
