It was not meaningless at the time we were playing the game.
Ok, I take it back, I think it was for a 5% chance to get the #1 seed.
Either way, taking a single random game from the past and making it the entire basis for expecting a win or loss doesn’t make much sense to me. This is the NFL and every team is made up of pros. You can lose to any team, even a very bad one, any given week. the Chiefs literally lost to one of the worst teams in football last season in the Colts. Ended up not meaning much.
On the flip side, how many times have people around here complained about how the Cowboys have dominated early in the season while they limped into the playoffs? Those wins don’t matter at all in January. At that point it’s about getting hot at the right time.
Super bowls are not won or lost in September and Pro football is about your entire body of work. If you overreact to every single week, you will be constantly chasing a ghost.
