Why do teams fake punts against us? Do they respect us?

Do teams respect our special teams unit, or is it a failure on our coaches (Bones) as to why teams have success faking punts on us. Often times i'll see two guys covering the gunners, which is added incentive that nobody is going to be open for an easy fake. I'm not sure exactly what we're thinking, but teams have done this to us and we are stuck looking clueless. Is it a lack of focus, or just being arrogant? Please give your thoughts. Yes i'm sure it happens to other teams, but i'm focused on my team!

The special team's coach allows his squad to get lazy on required checks and opponents take advantage of a lazy group. Those are regularly checked aspects in play every game but not done or accountability for not. If McCarthy, I would have chewed off set of heads and peed down the nubs.

As far as teams respecting us, the Cowboys are the very antithesis of a Dan Campbell led team. Undersized on the defensive line and soft against the run plus an offense that doesn't have a smash mouth running game isn't gonna scare other top tier playoff teams.

We shall see if our style succeeds in the playoffs.

Because it's easy to convert a fake punt against the Cowboys. They're never ready. So it's going to continue until it is stopped.

I think it has something to do with using a WR (Tolbert)as the CB on punt returns. He has been burnt twice in the last few weeks. On the next punt, he was replaced.

You know who else was an effective gunner….I hate to say it, but that wasted draft pick from Kentucky. He was a bad egg but brought an edge to special teams play.

Yeah they need to replace Tolbert as the gunner stopper. He has zero instincts for when there might be a fake. They've gotten him twice already and if you watched Saturday they could have gotten him again because he still did not maintain any line of sight with the ball on subsequent punts.

Broaddus said fassel's alignments is one issue the other is that Tolbert isn't experienced or have cover experience.
