Why do the Patriots get a pass...

...for their starting quarterback going down, but the Cowboys don't? They have basically the same record we do, and in a much weaker conference and division.

We've played like crap the last three games, but Romo (and others) has been out just the same as Brady's been out, yet they get a pass.

JMO, but I still think we would have won the Arizona game had Romo not hurt his finger on the first play of overtime. Didn't we just score ten points in the last few minutes just to get to OT. How many times have we seen Romo take us down the field at the end of a game to win. And we all know Folk would have nailed a field goal. That man has ice water in his veins.

Just my opinion, but I'd like to hear everyone else's.

Brady has been out pretty much the whole season where Romo has been out only 3 games, thats why they get a pass.

I've wondered the same thing. And the Patriots had the majority of the season to get accustom to Cassel. We had 3 games and we went 1-2. I don't get the criticism myself. Well nevermind I do understand. Its becaues we're the Cowboys and everyone wants to see us fail.

Last I looked the Patriots are 5-3 the last game they lost was Indy 18-15 they have play what 7.5 games without Brady have beat solid teams got blow out by Miami and San Diego beat them pretty good yet they also crushed Denver and have played solid even in games they lost. They beat the Jets @ their stadium. They beat the bad teams they where still better than we got crushed by the less talented team.

In the games Romo where out we where blown out by the Rams (Patriots beat them) Played Tampa well got Blow out by the Giants. The Patriots have shown they can win and play solid football even with out Brady are they the same team no ! They would be way better with Brady.

If you can not see a difference in the way they play and the way this team played with out there starting QB I do not know what to tell you.

I've wondered the same thing. I've read on here things like how the Pats can lose their starting QB and not miss a beat while we can't, but come on. They've gone from 16-0 and setting all kinds of records to 5-3 and struggling. So losing their starting QB has affected them, too, as of course it would.

They do have some skins on the wall because of recent Super Bowls and last year's amazing run.

However, I do think they get more slack than any team.

Folk hits that FG before halftime and the game doesn't go into OT and Romo doesn't get hurt.

As for free pass the Pats get, well they are the media darlings and can do no wrong.

They won the Super Bowl when, Like 3 1/2 years ago?

Their season ended the same way ours did last year: Losing to the Super Bowl Champs. The only reason they still have a chance to win the division is because of the teams in that division. Anyone want to compare Miami, Buffalo, and the Jets to Wash, Philly, and the Giants?

Also, Washington lost to the same Rams team, at home if I remember right, but I could be wrong. Dallas got blown out missing Romo, Felix, Kosier, Newman, Williams, Spencer and Pacman, and also by being overconfident and playing like fools.

This team averages 30 points per game w/Romo, and 14 without, but having him in doesn't really help that much?

I think it's probably because we were actually faltering before we ever lost Romo.

When they had Brady they were on a historic run. Also they are coached by a brilliant Parcells disciple. We are coached by a dimwit.

If it's because of the coaching difference, then I completely understand, but I haven't heard any of the media saying that. I wouldn't bring up this conversation if people would use that reasoning.

I just get amazed when people act like adding Romo to this team won't make much of a difference, if any.

i am a diehard cowboy fan and dislike the Pats intensely

However,

they have actually won superbowls in the last decade, we havent even won a playoff game

they are a team and not just a collection of over-priced, over-rated individuals

they play hard, their defence is not constantly confused (pointing fingers)

they do not have a dysfunctional organizational structure or a slightly drunk doughboy headcoach

they dont have a self deluding meddling owner

they didnt sign criminals on their 12th chance to their team

...

do i need to go on?

so please enough with this "why does the media hate us?" BS.

the media may or may not hate us, the question we should ask is "why do we make it easy for them to laugh at us?".

rant off :)

I agree with some of what you're saying, but not all.

Peyton Manning didn't win a playoff game in his first two tries either, maybe we should give them another shot before we decide to jump ship.

Who is over priced and over rated? I'll give you Flozell and SS Williams and even Henry, but Williams was signed coming off of a great year and Henry was signed because we needed a CB opposite Newman. If we hadn't paid that money, someone else would have. I don't know what the heck they were thinking with Flo.

I'll give you the defense, but some of the confusion is expected with three rookies on the fiels a lot of the time.

I'm not sure why we're considered to have a difunctional organization, but I'll definitely give you the Head Coach.

I'll take Jerry Jones any day of the week. He will spend any amount of money to try and get good players in here. If you're going to give him grief about signing worthless players like Pacman and Henry, then you have to give him credit for guys like Romo, Barber, Witten, Ware, and Newman.

We signed two guys with criminal records, out of 53 on the roster, and both are considered backups. I seriously doubt that has anything to do with it.

After all of this, the bottom line is, no matter which team it is, if they lose a top five qb, they're going to lose a big step. And if you add one, you're going to make up some ground.

You realized the Pats signed a guy of the practice squad at CB 3 years ago started him and won a superbowl and was coached up. So why is ti there is a lto of confusion with our rookies and some teams rookies have less confusion.

Please we saw the confusion before we had 3 rookies starting

The Patriots don't go around talking about how the Giants are wearing their Super Bowl Ring. By the way, who the hell cares what the media or anyone else has to say about the Cowboys? I guarantee you that 3/4th's of the media don't even watch the games (aside from local).
