I think the Cowboys have a lot better chance of winning without Irvin than they do winning without that dominant OL and Emmitt.

And I also think TO is not a great WR anymore and vastly overrated by Cowboy fans, and to compare what he is today to Irvin or Rice in their primes is laughable.

You crazy...... U must didn't watch the games back then, Irvin was the heart and soul of the Cowboyz, without Irvin we don't win one ring in the 90's Deion couldn't cover Irvin, Frisco would have shut down our whole passing game without Irvin.

You honest think we win with kevin WIlliams, Harper, and Kelvin Martin....lol

We need another WR to soothe the butthurt fans who mistakenly think WR is the most important position in football because they play too much fantasy football and Madden.

Best take to date on TO being released!!!!

Taking Mike or Jerry Rice off their teams impacts in a different way. Mike was the heart and soul of the team, a leader in the truest sense. Same for Jerry, you didn't cross Jerry. Both laid down the rules and if you didn't follow them you would be in trouble.

Here, TO is in the middle of controversies constantly when he should be the leader, the player disciplinarian who would keep the team together.

Look at the teams in the playoffs and their WR corps. Who made it without great receivers?

We have Witten, Jones, RW, and Barber with Tony Romo to get them the ball. That's more talent there than many of the playoff teams. We just had no chemistry, guess why?

If the front office sees it and is willing to "throw away" millions there must be reasons, I mean really, Jerruh totally ate his pride. Why would he do that if TO is all that?

Aside from that, TO couldn't carry Michael Irvin or Jerry Rice's jockstrap at this stage of his career.

the Giants had an aging Amani Toomer, whose probably about equal to Crayton, and a bunch of scrubs

outside of Roy i'd take their receiving corp over ours any day, Smith and Hixon are better then anyone we have behind Roy

The Cowboys were based around the running game and the offensive line, first and foremost. When Emmitt held out at the start of the season, the offense was pedestrian even with Michael Irvin and Aikman.

Your mother.

Really that juvenile of a reply warranted that! Are you kidding me? What grade are you in?

The stage of career doesn't matter at all...wow:banghead:

Yet in the end it was the 2 teams that had great receivers who made it all the way with a receiver getting the MVP

So you would call Holmes or Ward one of the top 10 WRs in the league right now? In my opinion at this point Ward and Holmes are good WR's but they aren't great WRs. And I'd put TO in about the same spot as them right now.

Ward is a top 10 Holmes is looking better and better every year he's about as good as #2's come

Out of the last 10 Superbowl winners, I think there are maybe 1 or 2 teams that had a consensus Top 10 WR on their team. Harrison with the Colts in 2007 and Holt with the Rams in 2000. Steelers in 2009? Nope. Giants last year? Burress is pretty good, not a consensus Top 10 ( In fact, the entire body of work over his career Burress has been pretty mediocre). Steelers in 2006? Nope. Patriots in 2004 and 2005? Nope and nope. Tampa Bay in 2003? Nope. Patriots in 2002? Nada. Ravens in 2001? Not even close.

Ward at age 32 is not a top ten WR. He hasn't been for a few years. Your definition of top 10 seems a lot more lax than mine. I will say that holmes is a good number 2, but a good number 2 by definition isn't a great WR.

I'm just saying that Only one of the two teams in the superbowl had 1 great WR much less 2 great WRs. 1 had 2 great WRs and the other had two good WRs.

Our defense weren't even close to any of those teams defense so it would have been better for our offense to be able to put up 30+ a game. This team is a joke know making bull**** moves that are dictated by the media.

You guys wanted TO gone should be happy, most of you guy were like cut TO, Austin is ready......I'm gonna hate press coverage next season, when none of our WR requires double teams....

Once again it's funny how guys wanted TO gone, but now want Holt, Boldin and everyother WR out their.......

I do have confidence that we still win regardless of TO, I do think it was a bad move, even though we didn't draft TO, TO been release hurts and I think he was the fall guy...especially when Romo to me is a choke.....

Because you don't want to be an injury away from not having a WR able to step in. I don't expect to get Holt or Boldin I would not be surprised to see Dallas look to the draft

If we're that bad then we need to start rebuilding around Romo, Witten, Ware, Ratliff and our core players in their 20's ... not expecting a washed up 35 year old to carry us to a Superbowl when he hasn't done it in his entire career.

We need a deep threat. Doesn't have to be a big name, but just needs to fit in that role.

Yep, we should see Austin break out if he stays healthy, especially now that he will be the main threat deep and T.O. won't.

He will allow us to do the same things...Witten in the middle to draw the safety, he beats his man deep. He's fast enough that there aren't a lot of corners who will be able to cover him.
