If I were the special teams coach, I'd have him sit and watch Parcells' take on returning. He does absolutely nil of what Parcells suggests when returning a punt. I'd actually bring in a rugby chap to return punts before I let him catch one again. Rugby players actually do what Parcells says when they catch a rugby-kick.

IIRC there was fumble issues with someone so the started using Beasley to ensure the ball was caught and not his return capabilities.

Not to mention, why are we risking a good, veteran slot-receiver’s health/availability?

Can’t our ST coaches find a young third-string DB to do the PR gig? More than a few stuck-on-the-bench guys have built solid NFL careers after starting out returning punts/kicks.

They put him out on punt returns so he doesn't forget what it feels like to have a ball hit him between the numbers.
