Why does everyone want to have two 30+ tackles coming off injuries?

I just hate spending money on 30+ players esp OL. and really hate it if they are coming off a season ending surgery. we will need to build a huge wall around someone like bledsoe. And its not fair to compare sack totals from Tucker and FA. Flo is da man. And I am quite sure, most teams where testing the rookie on the right side more than flo on the left,, with tucker, teams could be more creative in their blitz packages. Now Tucker is not great,, but I think Petitie can be pretty darn good, if we give him the chance to play some. I just hate this win now at all cost mentalility,, and sacerficing a young player with potential like Petitie.

30+ players are always a risk, true. But statistically OL is the one place NFL players can often thrive well into their 30's. People are looking at Rivera and jumping to an incorrect overall conclusion about OL guys. Petitti benefitted early on from more help when Flo was healthy, less so after Tucker took over and his numbers showed this. No reason we would have to help either Flo or Fabini, another benefit to the offense. BTW, BP LIKES Petitti. If Petitti has a great offseason there is no doubt in my mind he wouldn't hesitate to play him if he outperforms Fabini in camp. I think we'd all be happy about that. But it's simply folly to plan your season on it.

I can't fathom why people want us to sign Fabini. Especially since he is coming off a season ending injury in addition to Flozell also coming back from injury.

I would rather have Ashworth, but he had some minor injury problems last year as well.

Alternative - Ashworth - NE

3 years younger and plays RT or LT.

Probably the same price or less.

I bet Ashworth will carry a higher price tag.

I think Ashworth might be one of the most overrated FA prospects out there. There is a reason NE is in no hurry to re-sign him.
