Jerry is great for business, and his hangover quotes on Tuesdays are priceless. He is their sugar daddy

Jerry Jones says Cowboys in “upper echelon” of NFL - Charean Williams, Pro Football Talk

https://www.bloggingtheboys.com/202...deadline-upper-echelon-nfl-brandin-cooks-rams

Cowboys owner Jerry Jones thinks it puts them right in the thick of the NFC race.

“Well, we belong in the upper echelons,” Jones said on his weekly radio on 105.3 The Fan. “I’m not going to say we belong on the field with San Fran, and we haven’t played Philly, but we’ve anticipated Philadelphia being what they look like. I don’t want to go that far, but we’re in the upper echelon.”

The Cowboys’ victories are over the Giants, Jets, Patriots and Chargers, teams with a combined 9-17 record. The Cowboys’ losses were blowouts to the Cardinals (28-16) — Arizona’s only victory in seven games — and the 49ers (42-10).

Jones, though, was appeased by San Francisco’s back-to-back losses to Cleveland and Minnesota.

“I would’ve liked to have played better against the 49ers,” Jones said. “I, of course, watched with interest in this entire weekend’s games, but certainly that one last night. You see a team step up and play like Minnesota did, and their quarterback did, they can be had, the 49ers. Then, you also see a Minnesota team that needs to be reckoned with down the road.”

That's why...it applies in the now. Intelligently except for futile fans.

How can we send him the right message? I'd do anything to let Jerry know that a fan of 48 years is almost ready to give up. I'm ready to give up on the Cowboys due to absolute hopelessness of winning again due to Jerry's handling of the franchise. If there is any way to send him that message I am all for it.
Individually probably not without taking desperate headline making news which is never recommended.

The answer is cumulatively with millions of fans which as long as we have a relative and interesting team Jethro can hype most are going to hang on in some way however reluctantly.

Locals have tried to illustrate their displeasure with lower TV ratings but unfortunately with the PSL on season tickets they are brokering out their tickets to mostly opposing fans . And Jethro doesn’t seem to care who attends.

The fix was pretty well set once new stadium was built and fans can’t walk away like we did at Texas Stadium. And even if you stop watching the Cowboys if you watch other NFL games the Equal TV Revenue shares with him while we watch other games .

The apathy has set in here locally as he is the most hated sports personality while Cowboys remain most popular and loved franchise . It’s a love / hate relationship that it appears we will have to ride it out hoping for the best while gaining some comfort when it stumbles exposing his dysfunctional ways . A total mixed bag of emotions.

Because he always gives the media, rest of league and other fans from other teams something to be thankful about.

Because he is an easy mark and they don't want to lose access to the guy who provides them with weeks of coverage.

The man is constantly giving his opinion and never wins anything at GM. Jerry is cheap and has no intention of making a splash because of the Roy Williams trade. The eagles go out and get all pro wrs and safeties and we sign players who never live up to their contracts. Jerry doesn’t want to win and has shown he doesn’t know how to win.The Rangers are more important than the Cowboys right now. Every other team in the area at least gets to the championship game except Jerry’s.
Jerry is comic relief for the national media. He’s not taken seriously enough to be held accountable. The local media is truly scared of having their access to the team revoked. So none of those guys are going after Jerry.

Jerry wants to win. He just doesn’t know how to do it.

If those guys turned on Jerry, Jerry would deny access to the team. That would end their careers. Those guys are smart enough to know Dallas is a head line grabber all times during the year. Journalist love head lines and that means they love the Cowboys and for their paychecks they love Jerry.

It’s a vicious cycle that causes the fans to be hurt because there’s no accountability for Jerry because everyone around Jerry gets paid. Whether or not they deserve it. And like I said before, the fans have been hurting for 27 years.
100%

Certain media are even afraid to challenge powerful head coaches too much...much less owners. Bad career move.

There are some well established media with rock solid job security who wouldn't fear them, but they're usually national guys.

But the local Dallas sports columnist? No way?

So you don't think amari Cooper being the most recent slash trade that actually did turn the season around I guess you just selectively blocked that out of your memory dude stop with the ridiculous stuff he's they're not turning on him because there's no reason to turn on a guy who has kept this team relative you know winning top five in wins since 2016 when they rebooted this thing got rid of Garrett went with a better coach right now we're one of the top teams in the NFL regardless of what you think we are we're a playoff team we're on one of the better consistent runs we've had since the mid 90s as far as winds go I mean back-to-back twelve win seasons how would you turn on a coach or GM of a team that has great drafts most drafts are very good top five in the league every year and have us winning games I mean you act like we're A5 win team no those are all over the league and it's not us...
So many fans and media are not as disrespectful and ridiculous that have nothing but hey and trolling our owners and our players constantly so let's get that straight there's a reason the Cowboys are on prime time all the time why is that why is the league keep constantly giving us the best time slots as far as viewership goes???

Your view of our team is skewed because we haven't won a Super Bowl in a while but that's ridiculous show me all these big time trades on a regular basis right before the trade line deadline for all 32 teams or hell just give me 10 teams wait a minute I'll make it easier give me five teams that constantly making moves before the trade deadline and then show me the actual dividends that they pay off show me the Super bowl trophies that had to do with that move??

That's right you're not getting me to have your little hate fest I'm going to go the opposite direction and say maybe you ought to pick another team!!

Jerry has 3 Super Bowls in the last 33 years;
the Dallas Mavericks the Texas Rangers and the Dallas Stars have only two in their entire existence..53 years for the ranger ZERO titles...
This is why the Dallas Cowboys are king that's why football is king because regardless of the small recent drought that we're on that doesn't even equal only having one trophy in 60 years for the Eagles or it took 51 years for the chiefs to get back on track there's teams that don't have any Super Bowls at all it's hard to get to Super Bowls it's even harder to win a Super Bowl that is proof the fact that we're still in 3rd place all time as a franchise in SB wins, and we're still number one all time in win percentage in the league the Dallas Cowboys are still a top team that will always be looked at as a top team unless they completely bottom out and stay bottomed out which they never do...

You can call him a bad GM, you can call him cheap..hmm doesnt add up, how does the word cheap even come into play when he overpays Ezekiel Elliott he apparently in many people's opinion overpaid Prescott and all these other players that he paid like jalen Smith, tank, zach, tyron, steele, pollard, and I can't even go on the list its so long..

he maxes out his players, how can you call them cheap??

How is he cheap? What the hell are you talking about?
Yeah we'll never understand that narrative he overspends on all his players he pays his loyalty he pays big money top contracts with so many players I can't even list and then the guy totally skips over the fact that we made a first round move to turn our season around 2018 for amari Cooper but all he can remember is that Roy Williams trade..

He also acts like the entire league makes big moves all the time right before trade deadlines all offseason they go out and they make all the moves and Jerry's alone he's the only one that doesn't take high risks no it'd be the other way around there are only one or two teams in the league that constantly do this the rest of them are ran much like the Jones run the Dallas Cowboys... So they don't have the all in mentality that some teams have lately but most teams run their teams exactly the way the Jones family runs the Cowboys they don't take a lot of risks they look for good deals they look for to have a great draft they build young they pay their own players and we're very relative these guys don't even know that the Dallas Cowboys are still getting all the prime time games because we still have a very high win percentage in the regular season and we're in the playoffs more than we're not..

Sometimes you gotta wonder I think they think right now we're two and four and yet we're four and two and the way we finished twelve and five the reactions you would think that we were finished five and 12...

There's some delusional fans here that believe this is Madden in fantasy football and they look around and see one move by the Eagles they traded for a very long attitude at the towards the later end of his career safety that they only had to give up a fourth and a fifth round pick fourth and a player that should tell you everything you need to know and before they even see how this works out they act like the Cowboys have done nothing but show me all the other teams that have done anything in the last 10 days let alone the entire year to make big moves that's gonna help them win a Super Bowl..

In fact that's the opposite way most teams build their teams they build it in the offseason and as long as they're healthy and have some depth and they have a nice four and two record which is only one game out from the best records in the league they stand pat and this is the reaction we get they think we should go buy up all the players that may or may not even be available waist strap pics take on giant contracts because fans think it's the right move!!:omg:o_O:facepalm::huh::angry::popcorn::oldcouple:

The Dallas media doesn't need to, because all the national media carries the torch for them. The four (4) biggest lap dogs in the DFW area are, (in no particular order) Mickey Spagnola, Mike Fisher, Brad "the" Sham, Babe Laughable....its gotten beyond pathetic.
I mean it helps that those are the 4 that literally work for Jerry, the actual media doesn't work for jerry....

The media wants stories. They earn their money by writing and selling them.
They are not interessted if those stories are about success or failure.

But no media guy wants his sources of the stories be angry at him. He needs his sources and so will only listen and not argue.

Remember: Those guys are not press guys who are the 4th power in a state.

Doesn't mean they have to run to his defense immediately following a brush fire....Fish did this yesterday on his show with his "What do you mean Jerry isn't spending money" defense....he knew damn well we meant on big name Free Agents, but he tried to play it off as if we were mad about salaries in general. It was such a transparent defense that it was embarrassing.

The media adores Jerry Jones.

He used to serve them steak at his press conference. If they were in search of quick material, then all they had to do was listen to Jerry. He was an automatic story. They have no interest in drying up the well.

The media is the reason Jerry got into the Hall of Fame.

Yeah that was weak on Fish’s part. It does really bother me how the media defends him.

If the fans have been hurting maybe they should stop buying gear, stop buying psl, and game tickets. Stop showing up on the road. You can't sit here and complain about the media not holding Jerry accountable when you fans are throwing money at him left, right and center and making the Cowboys the most valuable franchise in the league.

You want Jerry to leave, put your money in your pocket stay home and stop watching the games until he leaves or starts doing the things you think he needs to win.

Or continuing complaining on a message board about how he media doesn't make Jerry tremble in fear

You think me not buying gear is going to change Jerry? And why are you upset that I’m complaining on a fan message board? Isn’t that the reason we have fan discussion forums? If you don’t like my complaining then don’t read it.
