Why doesn't Dak run more?

This is what I really loved about Dak when he burst on the scene in 2016 he could put the team on his back run the ball and move the chains.

He could put his head down get a first down get tackled get back up and lead the team.

Then he got injured paid and running was a thing of the past.

If he won't run anymore that really takes a lot away from his game and makes our offense much more predictable and that's not a good thing.

His mobility in his early years is what kept the defenses honest. Defenses aren’t scared of his arm abilities, they were concerned of him extending plays with his legs.

He doesn’t have that anymore. Which makes a mid tier QB with an average arm and mediocre accuracy - and now, no wheels.

When a man see his ankle twisted the other way around it's gonna change him unless he's special. I can't say I even blame Dak for not running much anymore. What he went thru had to be traumatic. I just hope he can get his confidence back even if he doesn't run much anymore.

Dak hasn't even played after getting injured during Game 1, and y'all are complaining about why he doesn't run more?

Why don't you complain about why Cooper Rush doesn't run at all??? You already crowned him, so what are y'all really up to? Complaining just to complain because you don't like Dak, eh?

68+ completions percentage, 4,500 passing yards, franchise record 37 passing TDs with a 104.2 passer rating is NOT an average arm and mediocre accuracy.

The ankle injury in 2020 has kept him from running and when he does run he looks slow. Running was a big part of his game especially in the redzone. His first few seasons he scored a number of TDs with his legs.

coaching a player out of his legs is stupid...regardless of NFL timing requirements. Removing dimensions to a players game is foolish.

Yeah the "average arm" and "mediocre accuracy" arguments are hilarious that people are still hanging on to those brain dead takes. He's breaking franchise passing records.. "but he sucks." Before he got hurt in 2020 he was on pace to shatter a number of NFL records.. "but he's below average." Good lord.. What the hell is wrong with people.. ?

I know he's only played one game. But I look around the league and most of the top qb's use their legs to help them make plays. Allen, Mahomes, Rodgers, Jackson, Wilson, Murray to name a few. In our own division there is hurts and jones.

With the way we can run the ball I just don't get how its not a huge part of our arsenal. Designed runs, RPO's. With the way we can run the ball. if the defense has to account for him using his legs its one more thing they have to worry about. It can open things up for everyone.

When he came up he was electric making plays when he broke the pocket. He's still capable of doing it. When he ran for a td in the playoff game last year, or when he ran on the last play of the game. Yet majority of the time we had him back there at times last year like he was Tom Brady. If dak comes back, I need to see him run more. It will help the offense as a whole.

When was the last time a running QB won the superbowl?

57 rushes for 282 yards in 2016.

48 rushes for 146 yards in 2021.

Because he's slower than me. Dak's athleticism is gone.

Dak has admitted at times he gets greedy and wants to get the long strike down field.

He has been diligent on working on his passing game every year and I can understand him wanting to use what he has worked on so hard.

I can also understand after his horrific ankle injury that he is fearful of something like that happening again

That said there are times when there is a whole load of real estate in front of him and he would not put himself at risk if he just tucked it away and took a nice gain and slid down.
Beyond that the hesitation causes the offense of line to hold their blocks or try to hold their blocks longer and to get penalties.

I'm just saying I wish when it was there and not a risk he would just take it because that part of his game adds a whole other dimension to our offense.

Man this wasn't even remotely a Dak / Rush thread until the usual suspects turned it into one. What the F is wrong with you guys?

Most people here, including me, just want him to use his legs again, as that would just include another weapon into our arsenal. Once he returns, we need him to be the best version of himself. Simply because we now have a championship capable Defense, this season kinda has this "now or never" feel to it. And unless Jerry does something on FA, we're stuck with a talented but not A+ caliber of receivers, so we need all the help we can get.

I wish Dak nothing but the best, because this would be the best for the Cowboys. And that includes being mobile.
