Why have we not signed Ron Leary?

With all the turmoil of playing a rookie at RT..

why are we not moving Connor Williams back out to RT and playing Leary at LG?

Leary actually lives 5 minutes from the Star..

is apparently healthy and wants to play.

This just seems like a done deal but we are doing nothing.

I still think Williams would be better suited to play right tackle but I'm just some guy on the internet.

If Tyron is hurt then slide Williams to left tackle and put McGovern in at guard. It's not as if Williams played left tackle in college or anything.

This baffles me. Martin is the guy we need to move outside when we have an injury. He'll be average at worst.

Hmmmm, ... You must be listening to Mike Fisher , as Leary is one of his boyz (along with Snack, Dez) that he is clearly
trying to market and advertiise ..

Otherwise why we would be pushed to get Leary, when we have already invested a 3rd round pick in OG/C Conner McGovern ?

yeh i'm not understanding those wanting Martin moved to RT, since he's never been that in NFL. and
why would you compromise two positions, instead of working diligently on one role ?

i thought the big problem was our new OL coach not trying Williams out as an emergency OT in training camp , instead of having him
try reps and snaps at center, even with us having Looney, McGovern and Tyler Biadasz all that easily covering that area.

i cannot see Williams not immediately moving to OT, right now.. since it's just not enough proper adjustment time for Williams to practice and get
well-adjusted enough during regular season .

I'm tellin' ya, i don't get this new OL Coach Joe Philibin, .and his methods.

I'm assuming McGovern isn't ready to play after missing all of last year. That's the reason they haven't tried Connor Williams at tackle.

Moving Williams and Martin decreases their effectiveness at their new positions and creates two new holes at guard. They really just needed a better option at backup tackle.

Too late to move Williams to RT. Should have been cross training him for that for years if we had wanted that.

I don't see a need for Leary.

McGovern, Biadasz, Knight are reserves for LG. All young, cheap, and should be worth playing and developing.

I don't know why we aren't playing Knight. Fine last year. Should be even better this year. Just one of many odd moves on the oline this year.

But we wouldn't need him to start once Collins return. But we still would need his services in the event Tyron is suffering with injury issues.
he has game experience and knows the packers blocking system.
But was it a matter of money terms ? Failed physical ?

I like when people say move this guy here and start this guy or sign this guy. With no preseason and no public training camp it's hard to say who is better where right now. For example, folks keep saying play McGovern he is better then Williams........ name a game in which you seen McGovern play in the NFL to make that assumption. Same thing with Leary, you guys are going off of 2016. Did you watch him in Denver or ask yourself why any team would let a starting OL go?
