Why I think we can go 12-4 this year.

First of all we were a good kicker away from bein at least 11-5 LAST YEAR!

We have made such huge improvements. We now have one of the top Kickers in the NFL. When we need to kick a FG no longer do we need to get down on our knees and pray.

The OL is improved. We will have a healthy Flozelle Adams back. A healthy and bigger stronger Al Johnson. Fabinin is a big upgrade and Kosier is gonna do very good just watch and see.

We got a real game breaker in T.O. Love T.O. or hate him he will completely change the way defenses have to play us. T.O. will help cut down on blitzes all by himself. Reason is....how many times do you wanna leave him 1 on 1. That is real dangerous.

I was told that T.O. has never had a QB who can hit him in stride. Bledsoe can. Look for T.O. AND Bledsoe to have maybe some of the best stats they have ever had.

We got a big LB in Adoyle(sp??) 6'2" 251. He will help some.

We aint even done yet either. I think we will add depth to the OL and have another good draft.

Is this team 3 wins better then last year. I say yes....EASY!!!!!

Very good post. Wut I think is that if with the team we had last year we won 9 games, I do think T.O alone can win for us @least 2 games on his own. make that 11W's. one shy of ur 12W's u predict.

Absolutely. We're upgraded on the OL, WRs, TEs, K, LBs, secondary (since we'll be forced to address FS if Davis isn't re-signed).

I think it's too early to say. 12-4 sounds nice, but who knows what injury bug will bite us this year. Every year it's something.

Depth is so important, and we have very little of it.

Another thing that I think some fans are overlooking is the fact that this year's schedule is a little tougher than last year's. We start the season with 6 of our first 9 on the road. Not exactly the way you want to try and build momentum. We play 8 games against playoff teams this year. Five of those games come in the first half of the season, three of them are on the road. Not mention the fact that, though the Eagles had a down year last year, you can't write them off. Tennessee (regardless of the McNair scenario), Carolina, and Arizona (laugh if you want, but if they get that O-line to start producing they could be scary good) have definitely improved. We play everyone of them on the road. We can't simply be better to top last year's record, we must be VASTLY improved to top the number of wins we had last year. To be honest I don't see VAST imprtovement.

We got better at WR (no doubt about that) but we lack any serious depth, the O-line is still a major question mark, we have a hole at the strong side linebacker position (with a few solid players vying, but no legitimate playmaker), FS is a huge qestion mark, there's a durability question with our starting RB and the D-line lacks a legitimate backup to Fergueson (who was less than stellar last season).

Not trying to be a funhater or anything, but I jst can't seem to see things through the same rose colored glasses that some of us are seeing this upcoming season through. I hope to hell that I'm wrong and that we kick some serious *** this year, but with some of the issues that we are currently facing, I'm going to hold back on any bold predictions for the season. And, 12-4 is mighty damn bold right now.

Yes, the first half of the season is hard, mainly the middle part. Remember though, we started off rusty, played well in the middle, and ended off with crutches.

Our tough games come in the middle, and last year we played well in the middle. And this way, there's a good chance we have 0 turnstiles at OT instead of 2. The start and end are fairly easy parts of the game. Once we get to the end of the schedule, we'll hit a nice spot with easy wins htat we can pick up

11-5 is my prediction, and we'll take the division

1. Dallas Cowboys 11-5
2. Washington Commanders 10-6 (And Gibbs is gonna complain about the refs for all 6 of his losses)
3. Philadelphia Eagles 8-8 (Players getting older and older, "Eagles' Last Hurrah"
4. New York Giants 7-9 (I just can't see them improving again...correct me if I'm wrong)

Dragon, I would swap Washington and New York. Then you'd probably be dead on.

I would love that, but why?
New York is a much more solid team. I like their improvements as well. Washington has done little to improve their team, which caught some lucky breaks last year. They were written off 3/4s of the way through the season for a reason. It was undeniable that they were a subpar team. Basically they were the mirror image of the 2003 Cowboys. Where Dallas caught a string of luck in the first half of the 2003 season, Washington was doing so in the last half of 2005.

I think Tiki will fall off this year. I wouldnt be surprised if he got another 1500+ yards, but I would lean on him getting screwed somehow either by injury on himself or Eli/ O-line.

Yes, your argument does have validity.

The WR screens will be found out and snuffed, over and over again. That'll kill the Commanders' passing game. I just think its funny how people are divided over this. Some say around 9-7, others 14-2. I just thought it surprising that you would say the Commanders would regain their place as the cellar dwellar.

But did you think of this? The Commanders were 5-6 at one point, correct? Ever since then, they went through 5 straight wins. Yes, I agree, that those 5 wins were for the most part strokes of luck. However, the three games before that, whe the Commanders were 5-3, they were pretty much riding high. Then, they lost all 3 games in the 4th quarter after having a lead. Think about it, if they held those leads, they could be 8-3 going into the 5 game stretch. Then, with those 5 wins, they would be 13-3. Of course, that would be a homer's approach.

I wouldn't write off the Commanders just yet. Before the season was over, they had a phenomenal defense that held together the team. Believe it or not, but LaVar Arrington isn't a big loss, IMO, Gregg Williams didn't use Arrington as much as he should have, with the fall out between the two. I don't really know how much of an improvement Andre Carter is to the DL, but the Commanders' DL was its only knock. Also, a big weakness to the Commanders' offense was the lack of WRs and Brunell at QB. I don't see how the 'D' could get worse. QB is gonna get worse bc of age, and WRs can't get any worse than it was before. I think the Commanders are improved, but who knows, one injury (Brunell or Shawn Springs) coupled with Sean Taylor going to jail could really hurt this team.

Without these possible injuries, I think the Commanders are still a good team.

14-2 hahaha that means we find a way to either beat the colts and lose only 1 division game or sweep our division lose to the colts and another team.

our schedule is just so hard that 14-2 is impossible. 9-7 on the other hand is very possible as is 12-4 but even 12-4 is a bit homerish. 11-5 at best.

Let's get to the season first before we start talking... we don't know if we going to have any injuries.. It's real easy to say well we going to have a 11-5 season or a 12-4 season.. but you never know who's going to get injured in many camp, training camp, practice, offseason workouts, or preseason.... Let's get into the season first before we start the predictions...

Well, if we were playing LAST years schedule again, I'd agree with you. But we're not.
I'm gonna say whichever NFC East team goes 10-6 will win the division. The other teams stay home for the playoffs. Heck, our division might be won with a 9-7 record. I see all four teams being in the race at midseason, with Philly falling out down the stretch. Last week or two decides it all between us, the Commanders, and the Giants.
Don't think that the other teams in our division haven't improved also. They have. Maybe not quite as much as we have (on paper) but then again we had much farther to go than they did.

I agree with everything there, except that we did NOT have to go as far as the other teams. Our problems were mainly with depth, which can be cured without bringing in 1st stringers. The Commanders and Giants had problems with their starters, with WR and S respectively.

We both had about the same way to go, just we had different things to worry about. If we didn't have all those injuries, we would be just as good as the Giants and Commanders. The Commanders faced minimal injuries, and the Giants were arguably less hit than the Cowboys.

edit//btw, SouthernStar, are you the one with the bag over your head in cowboys-forum??

The demise of the skins will be Mark Brunell.

Yep Brunell always gets nicked up and and limps to the finish if he makes it at all.

so this time next year we will be saying the 06 team was a Backup QB away from going 11-5... each year is different and u can take what happen last year and translate to the next year... Thats how the RAIDERS endend up with Janakowski as their kicker, because the year before they lost games like the 05 Boys!

granted I dont think the Cowboys Brass is that dumb as the Raiders but some fans are!

I would say anyone who feels the Boys will go 12-4 or 13-3 should take a trip to VEGAS and contribute to the "new Tower" at your favorite Hotel!!!!
