i don't see samuel as a good fit in philly. he is strictly as zone coverage corner and last i checked philly runs a lot of man to man.

This statement is completely inaccurate. Because Ellis Hobbs is awful, the Pats have to use their safeties to give him help all the time. Samuel, especially against good passing teams, is almost always playing man-to-man. Go ask Patriots fans how much "zone" New England runs. They are almost an exclusive man-to-man team with help over the top on Hobbs' side. They actually run a pretty simplistic defensive scheme, they just execute it well. I'm not getting on your case, just clarifying that Samuel is not a zone corner.

Hopefully Samuel doesn't wind up being a Cowboys killer, but if they do get rid of Sheppard, then they are definitely losing a Cowboys killer.

One quick look -- Sheppard has 8 INT's in his last 8 games against Dallas.

So if Reid and Co. want to send Sheppard elsewhere, they can be Tony Romo's guest.

BINGO! This poster read my mind completely!

Lito may be overrated, but bottom line-he HAS excelled in Jim Johnson's schemes, brilliantly, which counts the MOST.

Sure-JJ has a knack for maximizing alot of talent even out of his most unskilled players(i.e. Mark Simoneau), but you nonetheless NEED PLAYERS to FIT your scheme, and Samuel is just NOT that type of corner that fits JJ's schemes.

Either way-with more rumors of Lito + a first day pick to Zona for Fitz and Gaither/Spikes/Herremans being traded on draft day to grab the likes of a Chris Long player, the Eagles are definitely betting the farm this year.

BTW-yes, the Eagles will nonetheless be very competitive, but to say they're a player or 2 away from owning the NFC, don't kid yourself-they still have holes at SS, FS(assuming Dawkins loses another step), WR, and not to mention too that have VERY little depth on the OL.

You mean like that game winning Plax TD in the Super Bowl where Hobbs was on an island ALL BY HIMSELF??

Samuel himself also struggled down the stretch-he has the Deion-syndrome-he's a big playmaker, but he consistently gets burned on those inside slant routes, which happened alot in the latter part of the season + the Super Bowl.

they looked pretty good the last month of the season. You know when they held us to 6 points at home. they have our number. As long as reid and johnson are still there we are going to struggle with them.

Again-don't let their 3 game win streak to end the season fool you-it wasn't until they were eliminated from the playoffs when they started to play with no pressure(remember Romo himself overthrew and missed several wide open receivers in that game).

But nonetheless-they still have some gaping holes to fill-Jim Johnson may be the best defensive mind in the game, but you can only do so much with what you have.

I am not fooled. They are a good team. If they land a wr who can make plays and command attention they are going to be extremely good.

My friend, that was a blitz inside the 20-yard line. No, when the Pats send eight guys on a blitz, they do not give Hobbs help over the top. Do you seriously want me to break down every single play? I've seen every Pats game during the last five years. I didn't just make this up. Samuel spends most of his time in man-to-man coverage. Not every single play, but a majority of the game. That's not my opinion, it's a fact. Anyone who follows the Pats can tell you the same exact thing. This isn't inside info.
