No to drafting a QB early. Keep adding talent to try and maximize Romo's window.

I'd rather waste a year post Romo and stink then waste a year with Romo by drafting a guy you hope never sees the field.

A franchise QB is a rare breed. The hardest player to find certainly in the NFL, if not all of sports. So I don't believe you try to find one when it's timely. I think you take one when you can get one and in the nightmarish scenario of having 2 on your roster (NOOOOOOOOO!!!!) you can always move one to a plethora of desperate teams.

To think you can fill that need on your schedule seems arrogant and foolish. This team's future is bleak right now because of the failure to prepare for life after Romo. We have no QB in the pipeline. So we are an awful team post-Romo until that changes.

There is no greater need on this team than QB right now.

P.S. I also think it comes down to us or Houston for RG3 once the Commanders cut him to avoid paying him $16,155,000 next season.

This would set us back years.

RG3 is not and never was a NFL standard QB. Good athlete, but bad QB. All the athleticism
and running ability in the world cannot compensate for poor passing ability. With the NFL getting more and more pass orientated, the last thing needed is a QB who is a poor passer.

RG3 is an example of hype and marketing clouding peoples judgment.

I'd be pissed... The team is a contender, we need our first-round pick to make an impact to help get us over the hump. I'd be more inclined to listen to why we should select another elite WR in the first-round, and I don't think we should draft a WR at all either. We a have a QB who was picked in the first-round on the roster already, his name is Brandon Weeden.

Maybe next season, maybe, but no QB this season.

How much better would you be feeling right now if after Romo went down we trotted out Teddy Bridgewater or Derek Carr

2016 to me is the perfect time to pick a QB in the first round. Some of the reasons

- We would have him under a rookie deal for 5 year, including the option. If Romo plays 2 more years, a pick gets two years to develope and we get 3 years of the " Russell Wilson Effect" where we are only paying a QB a rookie scale wage. Even if we dont make the playoffs, we wont be nearly high enough for the option to be anywhere close to RG3's

- This is a strong QB draft class with lots of quality tier 2 options for us after Goff, Jones and Hackenberg. Conner Cook, Carson Wentz, Cody Kessler, Gunner Kiel all right now look like viable late first round picks

-As mentioned earlier, we likely improve our back up sitation. Now this is not a given as QB's do have a high bust rate. But if Romo got hurt again next year or the year after it would be nice to have an NFL caliber QB fill in

Need a young QB for the future. The sooner the better !!!

No one impresses me except for Goff. Might as well see what Cleveland wants for Manziel

I am liking Will McClay choices these last couple of years, better than even odds closer to Rick Mirer rather than Tony.

If the draft fell right and the value was correct when they were picking, I suspect they'd have taken a QB sometime in the last two years already.
Can't force-fit a player in to the 1st round if he doesn't belong there....that could be disastrous.
But they'll take one sometime if they really like the player.

If everyone comes out who scouts predict, the top QBs and their school will be the QB from Cal, Connor Cook from Mich State, Cardell Jones from Ohio State, Kessler from USC. Somebody else will pop up. Nobody had heard of Bortles at this time when he was a junior.
