Why I'm Excited About Tony Romo

I understand what Bleu Star is saying, but honestly, like it or not, even if Romo is never a big winner (playoff wise), he is our QB for the foreseeable future. Too much money invested. Not enough guys out there that would be a significant upgrade. Even if Romo turns out to be Danny White, Danny White had his era, and now, Romo will have his, for better or for worse.

Yeah. That works. Take it all back to a TO conversation. Have fun with that.

After November, under Tony Romo, Dallas is 5-10.

In those 15 games:
15 TDs - 20 INTs - 5 fumbles lost - QB Rating 71.24.

Yup, it's TO's fault! Jerry better boot him off the team!

I have hashed and rehashed those stats. They're very telling. I didn't feel like digging them up yet again to present to the Romo lemmings. Thanks for the dig.

Terrell Owens post-december stats

In 12 games with Owens, we are 5-7. He is good for 51 receptions, 691 yards and 7 TDs in that span, or 4.25 receptions and 58 yards per game. extrapolated over an entire season, to give you a better idea of how pedestrian Owens' post-december numbers are, that would 68 receptions, 928 yards and 9 TDs in a season.

If those had been Owens' number last season, he would have ranked 30th in receptions, tied for 26th in yardage, and to his credit tied for 8th in TDs. He would however wind up 89th in the league in yards per reception.

Very pedestrian indeed, are Owens' post-december numbers.

But I guess he can't throw it AND catch it, huh?

Tebow can throw it and catch it himself.

And watch when we draft him....

Owen's post December numbers will skyrocket.

And we'll win.

TBH, with Tebow, Owens probably has a season in the neighborhood of 1700 yards with 16-18 TDs.

Good thing he is getting younger. Players in their mid thirties never break down late in the year...

wait a minute..what do your stats mean.....

HMMM

nevermind..

Romo sucks and he fumbles.

Thanks a lot SP, you just proved that Romo sucks and we'll never win in December with him.

Too bad we ruined the next decade of our franchise when we cut Matt Moore.

Sigh.

I'm not really excited anymore about Romo.

But due to poor management he's our only option. We really don't have the money to invest in anybody that can come in and probably even give him a push for the starting job.

He's all we have. Excited though about Romo? Nope. Not anymore.

Be honest, you want him to date carrie underwood again dont you?

This is my point exactly. For better or worse, he's our guy. There's simply too much demonstrated evidence of Romo being at worst, pretty good, at best, great.

Aug of 2008, you couldn't sell me on any other QB in the game. I was convinced of Romo greatness.
I admitt 2008 has shaken that confidence. But I still have faith were talking All-Pro status in 2009.

Only one thing to say about these numbers.......they suck.

However I still say they speak as much to circumstance and the team's overall play as to Romo himself.

There's no magical, mystical December barrier. Romo has proven to be clutch.

Let's not go overboard. How about looking at the whole body of work? 2008 was the bad. 91.4 rating, 3448 in 13 games, 7.7 YPA, 26 TD's to 14 Int's.

If 91.4, 7.7 YPA and almost a 2-1 TD/INT ratio were his career average, would we be complaining?

If I were to list the injuries the team and Romo were to suffer in 2008, what would guess would happen to his numbers?

I would have guess a rating much lower than 91.4

2008 13 13 27645061.33,4487.726142012391.42007 16 16 33552064.44,2118.136192417697.42006 16 10 22033765.32,9038.619132112495.1

We're always in the game with him. He always make me feel like we have a chance to win, and I think his teammates feel the same way (even after this season).

He's won some big games here, divisional games at that. He's shattering records, and he's not even 30 yet.

All I know is the Cowboys have put all their hopes in the Romo basket and that I as a fan have to accept that.

They don't have anybody on the roster that is going to replace him so he's it.

And I answered honestly...Nope I'm not excited about Romo anymore.

Amen. It's so easy to focus on the negative. His positives outweigh his negatives by a huge margin. You can pick apart any player (except Brady maybe), but Romo is still one of the best in the league.

When was the last time Romo led a 4th Quater Drive like Rotburger did in the Superbowl?

When? After the end of November? I'm not sure he has done that quite yet in the month(s) when the importance is heightened.

I'll say it again until I am blue in the face. I love me some Romo.

I was very vocal in the effort to get bleedslow off of the field and to insert Romo after that stellar pre-season he had. I still think it was a bad move to start bledslug that year after seeing Romo burn it up in the pre-season... Anyway.. I digress... The luster is beginning to wear off for me and I feel as though a starting QB in this league should have his act together after four years at the helm. We shall see what our boy Tony does this year. If he lays another beautiful December egg I will be all for drafting a QB as high as we can going into 2010.

what kind of fan cant even remember stuff that happened in the last year.

I can remember useless details of games from 6 years ago for crying out loud.

THis is why people have no respect for the romo sucks crowd.

Next time, think before posting or at least do a little research.

I guess there is no way to make anyone believe anything but when you say things like this and there are facts to dispute it, I mean what are we supposed to do?

So please do some research.
