Why I'm not impressed with Schotty

We are a poor man’s Raiders…we just haven’t dropped far enough like them….heres to 30 more years of poor coaches, poor decisions by MGMT…BUT…30 more years of being the most valuable, most watched team/ franchise in the NFL…

Shottenheimer is the best coach they’ve had since JJ. He’s establishing a culture that will prove to show positive results. It already has. His offense is the #1 offense in the NFL. Yes, Dak is a big part of that, but his scheme using a lot of motion and balanced with a good running game has been lethal and unstoppable minus the penalties and turnovers. The Cowboys are lucky to have him as players are finally being held accountable for how they conduct themselves on and off the field.
Rockport does make a good point

its all about the money--- i would not mind having a few guzzles from Johnny Walker Blue on my super yacht talking how we might improve the team???...win or lose people like watching cowboy games?...Ca-Ching

Garrett used to rationalize at press conferences and to Jerry that “yards” were a sign of a team on the brink of the winning.

Drake Maye was in the third quarter week agains the Jets with 159 yards and 3 TDs. He could have left the game at that point and Pats would still win.

Coryell offenses get yards. But they get shut down. Dak seems to prefer this scheme according to McCarthy who could t get Dak to play a more modern offense.

You do realize Dallas has always had a top offense under Dak no matter who has been at head coach. Garrett did that same team culture changing Schotty is doing now. As I said with Garrett, he put certain guys up front in the locker room to supposedly show leadership. That crap is so over-rated. IMHO...winning covers everything. You win -you have a great locker room. You lose? You won't. And most players know this is crap also.
Well, you’ve showed with this post that you really have no clue about football, leadership and team sports so you have a great day.

Parcells…..

Some people say keep it short so here we go. Garrett-McCarthy and even add in Moore as a HC in waiting. All had great offenses. Shotty running around taking laps about this offense, but he hasn't done anything. All these guys had one ace up their sleeve named Dak Prescott. Now we all can argue about salary-playoffs-etc. But nobody can argue that every year no matter who's head coach. Dak has always quarterbacked a high-powered offense in the regular season. So? In that respect -what has Schotty changed?? Nothing!!
Ok. Somebody going to say he is changing the culture. Garrett did the same thing and how did that work out. Putting key players together at certain lockers. Talking about accountability. That's why I say Schotty is Garrett 2.0. IMHO...Just another wasted coaching comfort hire-puppet by Jones. Hope I'm wrong. I did like Schotty at the start but now seeing too much of Garrett. Yep. Like Garrett the offense is great. But just like Garrett the rest of the team stink. So minus offense and culture. What has Schotty really changed?? Other first year guys have turned their teams completely around. Yet-here we are again 8-8. Garrett...
We’re here again for one reason, JJ. Everything else is the same.

Until you deal the the real problem, Jerry Jones, what HC could have success here?
Until he's gone, it's gonna be the same song, different verse.

The team is lousy. Schottenheimer is one of many reasons why. Any offense with a halfway decent quarterback on a team that is behind most of the time is going to put up gaudy numbers. Now that the season is over you can see how meaningless the Cowboys’ offensive rankings are.

Shotty is a cheerleader. Capable offensively but not sure as a HC administrator. Bottom line is this team needs discipline, fear, and focus. Starts with the coaches. They need to not be afraid to cut players based on performance. Players are soft. They know Jerry makes the calls.

Red zone was a problem last year too. Do you know who the OC was?

What’s going on with scoring in the second half? We suck after halftime. He can’t adjust.

He’s made some boneheaded mistakes all season, he’s also gutless.

Schotty was the worst possible hire this FO could have made. He isn’t a genius. Hes a failed OC who has been in the league 20 years and only had a top ten offense 4 times.

Yall need to stop.
I’m not making excuses for him. I just wish Jerry had chosen someone outside his comfort zone. That said, he’s certainly not Garrett, and he did make an already good offense even better.

We had red-zone issues even before Schotty became offensive coordinator, so that doesn’t let him off the hook, and there are still problems. But calling him Garrett 2.0 isn’t accurate.

HahaHah

You questioning football knowledge of anyone is laughable.

Kenneth Murray is having a good season according to you.

And Elam was tearing it up in camp!

You’re a regular John madden

He was a part of the culture here, considering he was on the previous staff. Saying he will change the culture was pure propaganda. With that said, he needs more than a year.
