Why is Claiborne so much better?

I think someone showed him on film what a pansy he was playing like and it flipped his switch.
I think he was also playing not to get hurt and that is exactly what got him hurt. That or Lee and a few others gave him a marine shower with steel wool and wire brushes and he's a changed man. Carr should be next.
Can they give Dez the Marine shower...

Mo looks more physically built, and has much more swagger. Confidence is everything when playing corner.
Swagger also comes with being confident in what you are being asked to do.

Point was made earlier. I think a Byron Jones/Church combo would make me secure more than a Church/Wilcox duo.

The complimentary safety situation now has to help too.

Probably similar to the blanket party in Full Metal Jacket.

Such an outstanding movie, but I won't derail your awesome OP any further :)

So you think Mo falls off a cliff next season?
This poster has openly admitted that he likes to troll people. I would find and quote that post but it's against the rules to dig up really old threads.

Combination of all of them but coaching ranks my highest. They are playing the ball more, not watching the receivers backs!

I do think he(defense) gained some swagger from our two main rookies :)

FWIW, I was never out of Mo's corner, knew he had the physical skills.

I'll be all over this guy. I know who he is. I actually like getting in the mud (sometimes to my own detriment).

Even tho I just started posting, X, I have read this site religiously since mid 2012. That's why I know all the posters :)

1. Maturity.

2. Really slow learner.

3. Having to re-sign for only 3M woke him up.

4. Coaching (Old DB coach gone).

5. Byron Jones at Safety

6. Scandrick not on the field to Bully him.

7. Moved from Right CB to Left CB.

8. Dak acted as a faith healer and gave him some of his excess moxie.

9. Healthy with full training camp.
He transformed his body into NFL caliber with that came confidence. It took a while. But he's beasting

Confidence means so much to a CB. It can make all the difference. He is also heathy and probably a little smarter. The more you play the smarter you become about the game but confidence is a major factor

I agree and think the pressure that goes along with being a high pick and things not going well plus injuries I think took a toll on Mo. I'm not excusing the play he showed for much of his career but for whatever reason he is playing very good and I just hope it continues.

what's this about?
Anytime they gave up a catch, Scandrick could be seen screaming at Claiborne.

Claiborne probably deserved it, but it probably made his confidence issues worse.

In the past Claiborne's biggest problem was dealing with 2 WRs on his side where he and Scandrick were covering. The CBs in that situation must work together to avoid the "rub" routes. There were many times they both covered the same WR and the other one went uncovered.

Tackling is much better. He's actually been a solid open field tackler. I don't like how he struggles to fight off blocks and if I were an opposing head coach I would try to run towards him and then set him up for the long ball.

But you really can't play zone if you can't tackle and by being able to play zone, we can mix up coverages and that makes the corner's life a lot easier.
