You know why I'm happy? Because I'm in this for the fun of it. I follow football religiously, but I'm carefree when our expectations are terrible. Why shouldn't I celebrate? We don't get a half-win for this because our defense played poorly, we get that *1* in the first column.

Why am I so happy? Because right now, we're undefeated. We're perfect. We are first in the division. We are first in the conference. We are first in the league. I don't have to be a stubborn naysayer to call myself a Cowboys fan, and I'm curious as to where and when you deemed yourself worthy to make such decisions. I'm happy because I cheer for the best team in the history of football, go ahead and try to tell me otherwise.

Dag, he just asked a question. By the way, aren't the Giants first in the division since they beat a divisional opponent? Not that it really matters.

okay so you think tony can be off target like he was tonight against the eagles secondary? Do you think we can afford to not sack Manning? Do you think we can afford to allow the Commanders 26 First downs 450 yards and not have a single turnover? Come on use your heads! This is not pointless the point is that this game was nothing to be proud about.
Alot needs to improve.

I'm happy because we did all those things that you pointed out, and still won by 14 points. In the end, it's the "W" that matters and = :D

Oh, my. I feel so sorry for you, does having chronic depression suck?

I am a Cowboys fan... Just because I am not wearing blinders and acting as if the boys accomplished something today other then proving we are neck and nek with the worst the leeague has to off does not mean I am not a Cowboys fan it means that Jason and Wade need to hit the drawing board and Romo needs to work more with his weapons.

Yada, yada, yada . . . go whine somewhere else. They won going away after a slow start.

I understand what your'e saying, and I do agree with you. There are plenty of things this team is going to have to improve on. But you play week by week and all you want is a W. We got the W, let's just hope our coaches/players go back to Valley Ranch, watch some film, and improve on pretty much everything.

Precisely. We got away with a W, now it's back to the drawing board to find out where our D failed (Besides playing in the rain and being on the field to long.)

Football season is finally here!

The Cowboys won!

Excuse me while I don't throw a petulant little hissy fit because the Cowboys didn't win pretty enough.

You do realize the other team gets paid too right?

We struggled in all phases of the game in the first half. Our running game was anything but good. Tony was off target ALOT! Had we been playing a better team we would have turned the ball over at least 3 times.
Our D gave up 26 first downs, 450 yards and 3 TD's to a team that everyone thought was one of the worst teams this year! They are a rebuilding team and for us to play SO poorly is a disgrace.
We only reached 18 first downs! This kinda play will kill our D by December! We had 0 sack 0 turnovers and we were only 50% in the redzone!
THIS IS NOTHING TO BE HAPPY ABOUT! Be happy about the Special teams because they kept us in the game!
If we play like this against the Giants, Eagles and Commanders you can kiss this season goodbye and start scouting next year's draft picks now.
I kinda think it would have served this team better had we lost this game because if fat Wade thinks that this will happen against teams who have any kind of talent then we should start looking for a HC NOW!
I can't believe that people on this forum are acting as if we won the superbowl. So we showed the world we can go toe to toe with what alot of people are calling the worst team in the NFL. This is nothing to be proud of! It makes me sick.

Wait we struggled in all phases of the game in the first half...yet our special teams should be something to be happy about cause they kept us in it? Which one is it? Did they struggle or did they play well?

Don't bother answering that cause I actually watched the game and I already know that our special teams played very well.

And, yeah, shame on everyone for being happy about a win. Dang us all. Evil idiots. I think last year you should have learned that you should be happy to get all the wins you can, when you can, even the ugly ones. If you didn't learn that then, well, I'm sorry that you take longer than others to learn things.

Why am I happy? I'll break it down.

1) Football is back, and my Cowboys are 1-0.
2) The Cowboys did quite a few things well today.
3) You don't have to be perfect in September. You just need to win and stay healthy. We seemed to have done both relatively well. There's plenty of time to iron out all the kinks. Being perfect in Game 1 has never gotten anyone anywhere. How many 1-0 teams today played in top form?

This is the happiest this board has been in a long long time.. trust me it wont last..lol

as for the reason.. we won.. was it pretty? no . but who wins pretty anymore in this watered down version of the nfl? one week your great and the next week you suck . bottom line is outside of the e-girls no other "elite" team played a particulary dominant game today (thursday either) .. and i expect that without mcnabb they wont see the win column for the next few weeks either.

Best of my memory Super Bowl XXX was not a pretty win.

Maybe I should have been unhappy. Damn me.

Yes I am from Mt. Pocono Pa. I am a cowboys fan and have been my entire life. My granfather practicly raised me and he was from texas and I have been several times for weddings and funerals and 2 cowboys games. I wore cowboys gear to the vet the night Irvin was injured. I love the cowboys but this kinda play can't happen and judging by wades reaction in the locker room he was happy for the way his team played today.

With a post like this making it's debut as your first post on the board, you are bound to be considered a Pygmies, Iggles, or Redstinks fan. Which are you?

Let me also add... Sadly, you do make some points. That said, it's a win out of the box. I'll take it. The Redstinks can't say the same thing at this very moment.

Oh no, not another troll:eek: Wasn't pretty, but it's week one. I'll take a sloppy win anyday over a loss.

Riddle me this Mr. Resume.

The Steelers showed character for gutting out an ugly win, but we got exposed?

You're eyes are brown right?
