Why is Jerry cheap on coaching

Jerry thinks his GM genius is good enough any coach can win a super bowl with 'his' team. So why pay for one or for a good assistant coach?

I'll saying again JJ is poor evaluator of talent. Jimmy Johnson ruined him and he thinks there's nothing to coaching. It's maddening

I'm not so sure he really believes he's a good enough GM to win with any coach.... but I think he would rather take a one in a thousand chance at winning a SB where HE gets the credit, than a 1 in 10 shot of winning a SB with a powerful coach who he knows would get the credit.

The thought of a top notch coach coming in and giving you all one SB in this century during your lifetimes does NOTHING for Jerry. We're all kind of used to that thought....but when you really think about what that means, that's legit "terrible human being" kind of stuff

Tomlin has openly said he would like to coach here. But thats going to cost you 16 - 18m a year for the HC. he might keep the Offensive staff to appease Dak. but the defense is getting overhauled and rightfully so.

Now coaching matters more than ever & Jerry just gets whoever is looking for a job.

Jerry is not ‘cheap on coaching’, his entire life after Jimmy is ‘proving’ that if the team wins, it is because of him. Therefore he does not hire well respected accomplished (and therefore highly paid) HCs because if their team wins, it will be ascribed to the HC, not to Jerry. Therefore he hires less well thought of or new (therefore ‘cheap’) HCs because if they win, it will be Jerry who ‘found them’ and ‘gave them a chance’

A coach with standing won’t tolerate his nonsense. Parcells kicked him out of the locker room and it made Jerry miserable. He won’t hire another coach who puts him in that position again. He wants that position and authority with the players more than he wants to win.

Jerry mistakes his dumb luck for genius. He got rich wildcatting oil wells, most of those guys go broke. Dumb luck. He’s been desperately trying to prove he’s a genius since Jimmy left when everyone knows it was dumb luck on his part.
