Why is this team so underrated?

Eagles and Giants are stealing the spotlight in the NFC East for no good reason, really. I know it's preseason, but the Eagle's defense hasn't looked good, and the Giants really don't have a good offense. Cowboys seem really balanced.

That's the answer, right there. And I agree it's good to be under the radar. What I don't get is how the pundits look at last year and not factor in all the injuries we had. Anyway I'm glad we are being underrated. We don't need these guys reading their own press clippings.

If we avoid injuries to key players and improve penalty-wise, we'll win 11+ games this year. I'm very confident in that.

But the penalties do concern me, because it's something we can control (unlike injuries) and we were just atrocious in that area last season.

And not to put more stock into a preseason game than is deserving, but the stupid penalties committed last night were highly reminiscent of 2008.

Because of how it finished the season. It's really that simple.

I can't begrudge anyone predicting the eagles will finish ahead of us. I don't agree for many reasons. And that's before any of the training camp injuries.

But they were playing thier best down the stretch. They did crush us in week 17 and they did make the NFC Championship.

The Giants are another story. They played as poorly as us down the stretch without Burress. Whom they still don't have.

Shoot, they were our only Dec win!

It was perhaps the worst 65 minutes of this franchise considering the high expectations the team had going into the season.

Yes we are and it's great. This team is as talented as any team in the league but the two things it was missing are FOCUS and WORK ETHIC and I see both of them now coming out of camp. I also see unity on this team now and that's extremely important. There aren't any divas on this team, just hard workers playing together and that combined with lots of talent is gonna take this team a long way this season. I'm glad folks aren't talking about us, but they will be. Watch and see!!!!!

Me too...but it can't be because of last year. Philly finished strong yea, but the Giants absolutely fell apart without Plax, and guess what, he's still not there. So why all the love?

I still think Dallas is the team to beat in the East.

Not to jump on anybody, but why do constantly worry about experts thinking highly of Cowboys or any team? Its not like this is college football where opinions matter or get them a shot at championship.

I hated last year when all the experts picked cowboys and was afraid of letdown, and my fears came true in worst way. All I care is this team play well and get to playoffs, and do something there. I am pretty sure all of us are pretty sick and tired of hearing about 13 years of playoff failure.

Last year in preseason everybody was picking us to win the SuperBowl after coming off a 13-3 season.

When you go from Super Bowl favorites to missing the playoffs in four months, the perception of your team goes down a little.

Throw in a Pro Bowl where you send 13 players and it goes down a little more.

You can be unsold, thats cool with me and you can also wait until Dec as well but you're gonna miss a lot of the season. Our starters look very focused and have showed good work ethic. Those 13 penalties are coming from a rack of backups playing. Don't confuse the two, the starters are my concern....
