The 49ers, Rams, Chiefs, Patriots, Seattle, Broncos all teams that went to multiple SBs alwasy make moves before trade deadline to improve their teams while our lazy spoon fed CAP guy is busy partying on yacht.

You should know by now that the Cowboys don't trade away draft picks. They want more picks if anything. Lose or win that is the way they roll. Obviously, unless they get picks, they don't have anyone they want to trade away.

Trade deadline not until November 1st. So give them time.
However the best move is to make no move at times. GM 101. Just like trading stocks. Sometimes the best time is to sit on the sidelines and do nothing.

All these wild trades some fans want just are not possible. Then you want to rag on the FO for not making them.
Don't make moves just to make moves, especially to satisfy some armchair GM's.

Is there any other team in the NFL that covets draft picks as much as the Cowboys? You would think with the value that they place on draft picks that they would make more trades FOR draft picks.

He is too cautious and to be fair they do draft well, wish for this front office be bolder once in a while, specially this year that could be DQ's last one with us. Anyway, people here who come out with the "this is not fantasy football ...madden" and facepalm emojis mantra after any trade idea is posted are worse, meanwhile the real contenders are making trades year in and year out.

Teams like the Rams take advantage of teams like the Cowboys.

Those teams would rather use their 1st round picks on proven players instead of hoping they hit on someone that may or may not turn out a high level player with that pick.

Basically, the Cowboys would trade Micah Parsons for two 1st round picks before they would ever trade two first round picks for Micah Parsons.

You gotta pay Dakko for the next 2 seasons almost 100 million..........there is only just enough cap to go around bud.

Well for one do we know what Stephens job is? Is it to win a title or something else? If it is to win a title then he is failing miserably. If it is something else like, keeping the Cowboys as the most valuable franchise, manage cost then he is succeeding in spades.

IMO the Cowboys front office is behind the times on how the teams winning Super Bowls operate. The last 3 SB winners were very aggressive in the FA and trade markets and all 3 have young, aggressive GMs who adopt a win now philosophy and see the cap as a speed bump rather than a road block.

On the flip side however, the Cowboys are fortunate to have the scouting talent of Will McClay. He has allowed the Cowboys drafts to be the lifeline of the team’s relevance. Whatever we think about JJ, SJ and this entire front office, they have drafted better than most teams. The young talent we have obtained through the draft has been very good.

But…here are the problems:
  1. The draft is very important but that alone is NOT enough talent acquisition to win a SB.
  2. Mixing in some top shelf FAs is very important. Our FO no longer values that.
  3. Jerry doesn’t appreciate or value how important having a quality head coach is to winning in the NFL. With no salary cap on coaching, he could hire much better head coaches than he does. But he does not like having any HC who can take up any of his spotlight or threaten his power to do whatever he wants with his toy.
  4. Jerry either doesn’t understand or care that doing things “his way” haven’t worked since the 90s.
  5. Having your children serve as your top executives regardless of qualifications is foolish. The results speak for themselves.

Is it possible that Stephen is making offers that nobody wants? He could be trying to trade for all those top players you guys keep mentioning but only offers a 5th rounder and Jalen Tolbert as compensation. There tends to be reports from time to time after the trade deadline happens about how we tried for this person or that person but didn't want to give up what folks wanted...Jamal Adams and Sheldon Richardson are people that come to mind

The type of guys stephen would trade for are already on the roster. Stephen isnt interested in pro bowl type guys that might require big money or draft picks. He likes the long shots, low risk but high rewards if they hit. Even then he prefers not to trade at all.
